Known for exciting animal expeditions and scream-inducing thrill rides, Busch Gardens Tampa is planning some epic additions for this calendar year. Wondering what’s in store at Busch Gardens Tampa 2019? Read on.
Busch Gardens Tampa 2019 60th Celebration
Busch Gardens turns 60 in 2019! To celebrate, the park is bringing jam-packed entertainment, brand-new rides, and complimentary beer samples (yes, you read that right) to the park. And, there may be a few surprises and celebration activities along the way!
Tigris Comes to Busch Gardens Tampa
Get ready to roar into a new year with Tigris, Florida’s tallest launch coaster! Set to open in the spring of 2019, this roller coaster will be the most innovative ride you’ve been on yet.
Your ride includes a series of looping twists—both forward and backward—huge drops, a 150-foot surge towards the sky, and an inverted heartline roll. And did we mention this is all happening at speeds up to 60 mph? The 1,800-foot steel track will mimic the agility and power of the world’s largest cat, the tiger!
While the rollercoaster will be awe-inspiring, the ride queue and gift shop are something spectacular, too! In Busch Gardens 2019, Tigris’ queue will offer educational content and imagery about tigers in the wild and what we can do to help save them. You’ll also learn about what the SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Conservation Fund teams are doing to assist in these conservation efforts.
Plus, you can do your part to save the tigers while at the Tigris gift shop! 5% of the gift shop sales price are donated to the SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Conservation Fund.
2019 is the Year of Beer
Busch Gardens Tampa is calling 2019 the Year of Beer! (Sounds good to us!)
Guests ages 21+ can indulge in two (2) complimentary beer samples at the Garden Gate Cafe or Serengeti Overlook Pub with each park visit in 2019. This event honors the park’s roots as a beer garden when Busch Gardens Tampa first opened in 1959. Grab your tickets and head to the park for free beer in 2019!
52 Weeks of Fun
In 2019, Busch Gardens Tampa has a packed schedule full of concerts, festivals, kid-friendly weekends, and more. Each week is something new and exciting, for 52 weeks full of fun. Find out what events are happening during your stay!
Busch Gardens Tampa 2018: What You Missed
If you didn’t have the chance to visit the park in 2018, here’s what’s opened in the past year.
Vanish Point at Adventure Island
Continuing to strengthen their reputation for exhilarating rides and attractions, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay introduced a free-fall waterslide to Adventure Island in 2018. Yes, you read that right. A free-fall waterslide!
Guests can choose between one of two skyboxes, which send them through 425 feet of rushing water slide tubes until they reach the splash run end. However, at the start, guests will plummet down a 70-foot drop slide by having the floor swept out from under them!
Guests who aren’t too keen on dropping randomly down a 70-foot slide can choose the horizontal path. This option boasts a 455-foot long slide ending with a high-speed finale.
This all-new water park attraction is said to use 1,000 gallons of water per minute for the ultimate thrill. The slide opened in March of 2018 and is centrally located in the park next to Colossal Curl™.
