New details have been released regarding Universal Orlando Resort’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The Orlando Sentinel recently printed an article on the highly anticipated attraction. The attraction, which will be located in Islands of Adventure, will feature a “robocoaster,” recreations of Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, Hagrid’s Hut and the Forbidden Forest. The plans for the area show it being 20-acres large with more than a dozen buildings. At least three shops, a restaurant and many decorative buildings are planned. An elaborate pre-show/pre-ride queue is also planned and will feature special effects such as floating candles and snow falling indoors.

Hogsmeade Village, an old-European-style town from the Harry Potter novels, will feature the Three Broomsticks Restaurant and stores such as Dervish & Banges, which will sell & repair magical equipment, and Honeydukes, a sweet shop with delectables like chocolate-covered frogs.
The “robocoaster” is a ride system in which guests sit in seats suspended from a robotic arm that can swivel and swoop in multiple directions while it advances along a track. Universal also plans to add a large tent to the entrance of the “robocoaster” which fans have speculated will ultimately be converted into a recreation of a wizarding tournament from the books.
The Wizarding of World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort is scheduled to open sometime in 2010.
