Orlando is known for its amazing, world-class theme parks such as Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort. These attractions come with a hefty price tag, though. So, what can you do in Orlando that’s not only a good time but also free? Especially after the sun goes down. This list covers the best free things to do in Orlando at night.

1) Icon Orlando

It might cost money to ride the Icon Orlando Ferris Wheel. But, it’s totally free to watch the light show the wheel puts on each night at Icon Orlando 360.

 2) Disney Springs

The atmosphere at Disney Springs is all-new, thanks to a serious redesign of the area formerly known as Downtown Disney. Visit here to get a dose of Disney without having to shell out cash for tickets. Parking is completely free in their complimentary parking garage. Plus, the area totally transforms at night! You won’t experience the same fun if you visit during the daytime.

3) Lakeridge Winery & Vineyards

If you’re a fan of wine, this one’s for you. Set on 80 gorgeous acres, Lakeridge Winery hosts free tasting tours and festivals year round. Tasting tours are offered Monday through Saturday, 10:00 am until 5:00 pm and Sunday from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm. Although one of the earliest free things to do in Orlando at night, it’s one of the of the most fun, too!

4) Orlando Brewing Company

For those who prefer beer to wine, visit Orlando Brewing Company. The brewery is one of only 10 organic breweries in America, and the only on in the Southeast. The free tours are available on a first come, first served basis so get there early! After your free tour, stay and try the other brews on tap. The taproom is open until 9:00 pm or later depending on the day.

5) Popcorn Flicks in the Park

Winter Park presents Popcorn Flicks in the Park throughout the year. Classic films with families in mind provide the perfect night out under the stars. Films are typically shown on the second Thursday of each month in Central Park and they are free and open to the public. Of course, the showings are dependent on Orlando’s inconsistent weather patterns. If it rains, choose one of these other free activities as a backup plan.

6) Fred Stone Theater

The Second Stage Series at Fred Stone Theater offers free evening shows Thursday through Saturday. All shows are produced by Rollins Players, and completely directed, designed, marketed, and performed by students. Seat reservations are not available and is on a first come, first served basis. For the best seats, arrive to the show as early as possible.

7) Chip ‘N Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long

One of the best free things to do in Orlando at night for families is a campfire sing-a-long at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. Even if you’re not a guest you can attend the campfire sing-along. Afterwards, enjoy a classic Disney film under the stars. Don’t forget to bring your camera and snap a souvenir picture with Chip and Dale!

8) Lake Eola Park

9) Magic Kingdom Fireworks

Catch the end-of-the-night fireworks at the Magic Kingdom—free of charge! Simply ride the free tram to the Ticket and Transportation Center for the best outside-the-park views. Other places to view the fireworks for free include Disney’s Boardwalk, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and Eleven at Reunion Resort.

10) Electrical Water Pageant

If you’re a Disney Resort guest, there are a lot of free perks. For guests of resorts surrounding the Seven Seas Resort, such as Grand Floridian Resort and Disney’s Polynesian Resort, the nightly Electrical Water Pageant is an added bonus. A few of the best places to view the show include right outside of Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

11) Old Town

If you’re a classic car enthusiasts, drive to Old Town for free weekly car shows. All-American muscle cars are the highlight of Friday nights, while Saturday night features vintage cars. Old Town also features free events and festivals throughout the year. Guests enjoy everything from live music to muscle cars all year long—for free.

12) Portofino Bay Hotel

This Universal Orlando Resort property hosts the nightly show “Musica della Notte” each night at sunset. Accordingly, The Harbor Piazza comes alive with an Italian musical celebration free to the public. The classically trained performers rotate through show themes including Romantico Night, Classico Night and Italian Festival Night.

13) Universal CityWalk

Did you know you can park at Universal CityWalk for free after 6:00 pm each night? In addition, it’s completely free to walk around the entertainment complex and enjoy the sights and sounds. Free activities are available too, such as live DJ sets, dance parties, and splash pads for the little ones. Of course, if you decide to indulge in any of the area’s restaurants or entertainment, you’ll have to pay an additional fee—but it’s worth it!

14) Disney’s Boardwalk

While you might have though Disney’s Boardwalk required a fee, it’s actually among the free things to do in Orlando at night! Lined with free entertainment (think street performers and activities) at night, walking along the Boardwalk is magical budget-friendly fun. It is advised that guests utilize Disney’s complimentary transportation to access the Boardwalk, as parking is limited.
