SeaWorld Orlando is the place to be for unique, one-of-a-kind aquatic experiences. Its sister parks – Aquatica and Discovery Cove – are also popular Orlando Theme Parks that provide waterpark thrills and incredible animal encounters.
For the 2011 season, SeaWorld’s Discovery Cove is opening a million-gallon saltwater reef in early June. The 2.5-acre artificial reef is the first expansion at Discovery Cove since its inception in 2000. The Grand Reed will be filled with 125 species of seas life, including fish, rays, sharks and urchins. Guests will be able to explore the Grand Reed by walking, swimming and snorkeling through the environment.
The underwater walking tour is known as the “SeaVenture.” To explore this attraction, guests will wear dive helmets and follow a theme trail through schools of fish. “SeaVenture” requires guests be at least 10 years of age and groups cannot be larger than six people at a time. This special experience will cost an additional $59 per person and will last about an hour.
