Orlando Theme Parks Offer Great Attractions & Discounts for Vacationers

Orlando Theme Parks are presenting a variety of changes and new things to do at their amusement parks in 2011. Universal Orlando Resort, SeaWorld, Disney World and Busch Gardens all bring something new to the scene.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter opened last June at Universal Orlando and features attractions such as Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, Flight of the Hippogriff and Dragon Challenge. Universal Studios also made sure to make the surroundings true to the Harry Potter books, with Hogsmeade and Hogwarts Castle built in authentic style. Visitors will also find butterbeer, Ollivander’s Wand Shop, Zonko’s Joke Shop, Dervish and Banges, the Owl Post Office and Honeyduke’s Sweet Emporium. Although the Harry Potter Theme Park isn’t new, it will still be new to many guests this season and is expected to be a top priority on many vacationers’ agenda.

At Disney World Orlando, the Animal Kingdom will launch Wild Africa Trek, an immersive experience that takes small groups on personalized excursions that include bush-walks through the forest and savannah tours. Disney is also opening a new, 3-D version of the Star Tours attraction at Disney Hollywood Studios. The theme park resort’s Downtown Disney area continues to transform, as Hyperion Wharf is constructed. Hyperion Wharf is a nostalgic yet modern take on an early 20th century port city and amusement pier. Elements of the new area are set to debut early this summer. The Fantasyland expansion efforts are underway as well, opening in phases through 2013.
Busch Gardens plans to open Cheetah Hunt this spring. The roller coaster is a specially designed launch coaster that propels riders across the Serengeti Plain from 0 to 60mph in seconds. Cheetah Trail will accompany the new ride and provide visitors with up-close encounters with cheetahs.
SeaWorld Orlando debuted Omaka Rocka at its Aquatica water park last year and will debut a new show – One Ocean – this year at all of its SeaWorld theme parks. The show will replace Believe and will feature killer whales and aims to connect guests with these remarkable animals while with a new level of excitement, highlighted by colors and sensations of the underground world. The core message of the show is the both animals and humans are part of one world.
Purchase tickets to all of these exciting Orlando attractions, many with great discount tickets available, for an exciting summer vacation.
