There will also be an underwater walking tour name “Sea Venture” in which guests will wear dive helmets and follow a submerged path 10 feet below the surface. The “Sea Venture” experience will cost an additional $59 on top of Discovery Cove admission. The underwater tour will last about an hour.
One Ocean will debut at Sea World in Orlando at the end of April. The show is replacing Believe as the feature show at SeaWorld. One Ocean will feature killer whales and aims to connect guests with these remarkable animals while with a new level of excitement, highlighted by colors and sensations of the underground world. The core message of the show is the both animals and humans are part of one world.Discovery Cove is opening The Grand Reef in June 2011. The 2.5 acre Grand Reef will be a lush tropical environment with a white sand beach, underwater grottos and a palm-tree lined island. It will be built around an aquarium filled with more than 1 million gallons of water and 125 species of fish, rays and sharks. Guests will be able to wade and snorkel with the tropical fish, cross a rope bridge over a shark-filled lagoon and relax on the island’s hammocks.
Gatorland is currently working on a new zipline attraction, set to open in June 2011. The Screamin’ Gator Zipline exceeds seven stories in height and boasts speeds near 30mph. The $1.5 million dollar project includes four distinct ziplines, ranging from 230 feet to more than 485 feet. The experience includes an orientation session, a nature walk through the swamp, four zips and a swinging bridge.
