A new theme park is being considered for Orlando. The Baker Leisure Group, which specializes in building theme parks, is aiding a group of investors with the project to build “The Orlando Thrill Park.” Developers want to build an amusement park dedicated to roller coasters and the proposed location in a 77 acre lot on International Drive, near Festival Bay Mall and Prime Outlets.

The park could feature as many as 15 rides, according to a rendering provided to the city of Orlando as part of an application for zoning and land-use changes. Also included were photos of extreme-design roller coasters, with interlocking loops and vertical drops. The group is interested in building roller coasters so tall they would require Federal Aviation Administration approval. The tallest ride, according to the submitted sketch, would be 425 feet tall, just shy of the 441-foot tall SunTrust Center in downtown Orlando.

As stated earlier, this project is in the early stages of development but it sounds like a promising start. An Orlando theme park dedicated to thrills sounds like a popular plan. More details will be released as they are made available.
