ICE at Gaylord Palms features Frigid Fun

You may think holidays in Florida are sun-soaked and warm, but at Gaylord Palms they bring a big chill to Orlando for the Christmas season. With their annual ICE at Gaylord Palms event, scheduled November 24, 2015 – January 3, 2016, visitors can experience a winter wonderland right here in the sunny state. This year, see Ma in her kerchief, Pa in his cap and more as the classic holiday poem, ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, is brought to life in two million pounds of hand-carved ice sculptures, including two-story tall ice slides. This awe-inspiring experience concludes with the wonder and majesty of a full Nativity in stunning, crystal clear ice.

Using two million pounds of ice, Gaylord Palms is transformed into a North Pole featuring an arctic forest, four thrilling slides, a Christmas carnival with a life-sized carousel, Santa’s Ornament room and even reindeer.  There are also six individual rooms depicting the story of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas. Plus, one of my favorite attractions – a life-sized Nativity made of clear ice – has returned as well. The sculptures are lit by twinkling lights creating a beautiful, entrancing scene.

Returning in 2015, is snow tubing at Gaylord Palms ICE event. Guests age 10 and up can tackle the eight-lane snow hill with a combo ticket for $41.99/adults and $31.99/children. Work up an appetite? Join Mrs. Clause for milk and cookies!

The 18,000 square foot ICE events is indeed chilly, with a temperature of just 9 degrees Fahrenheit. In order to keep guests from getting too cold, hooded, calf-length parkas are provided. However, it is recommend you wear closed-toe shoes, pants, hats and gloves.

Christmas at Gaylord Palms is chockfull of over-the-top entertainment for families and kids of all ages to enjoy! Don’t miss out on the following complimentary attractions:  Cirque Dreams Unwrapped Stage Show and The Elf on the Shelf Scavenger Hunt.

Spending time at this unique attractions is a popular addition to any Orlando itinerary. ICE tickets cost $29.99/adults and $16.99/children. Make reservations in advance to save up to $2.00 per ticket.
