Disney World will debut a redesigned queue at the Haunted Mansion at the end of April. The Haunted Mansion is one the Magic Kingdom’s signature attractions, and with the new additions to the attraction, it is sure to remain one of the most popular rides as well.

Visitors to the Orlando theme park will now wait to board the attraction while traversing through an elaborate graveyard that features interactive tombs. A crypt for a composer, for example, has instruments carved into it that play music when touched. A sea captain’s crypt spouts water in leaks that move and a poet’s crypt features a quill and paper that writes words from riders.

The added elements are part of an overall redesign for Disney Theme Parks, which is trying to address the age-old problem of lines at theme parks. Interactive queues have already been added to Space Mountain, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and Soarin’ in Epcot.
All of these elements are part of Disney’s Next Generation Experience project, which aims to use new technologies to make the theme park experience more enjoyable but also easier to navigate. Other aspects of the project includes a reservations system that would let guests book rides times form home and bypass lines entirely.
