Celebrate Mardi Gras Big Easy Style at Universal Orlando Resort

Ready to celebrate Mardi Gras in a big way?  Universal Orlando Theme Park is hosting an authentic Mardi Gras celebration that transforms Universal Orlando into a family-friendly, Orlando version of The Big Easy.

On Saturdays and select nights starting February 11 through April 14, Mardi Gras at Universal features a colorful Mardi Gras parade, signature New Orleans bands, delicious Cajun cuisine and live performances by some of music’s biggest stars. 
This year’s music line-up features pop superstar Kelly Clarkson, cross over star B.o.B, newcomers Hot Chelle Rae, and R&B; diva Diana Ross, among others, who will have Mardi Gras goers dancing in the streets.

Universal is the perfect place to celebrate Mardi Gras in Orlando, Florida as it is home to Universal Studios’ French Quarter Courtyard, where guests can groove to New Orleans Bands before taking in the headlining concerts at Music Plaza.

The Mardi Gras Parade is a highlight of the festivities.  The elaborate parade will takes guests on a journey through the earth’s different ecosystems with themed floats paying tribute to the bayous, swamps, rainforests, coral reefs, ocean and polar regions.  Street performers, dancing and plenty of beads add to the excitement.  The parade floats are designed by Blaine Kern Artists, the same company that designs floats for the Mardi Gras Parade in New Orleans.
