3D Star Tours Ride Set to Debut at Disney’s Hollywood Studios May 20

The new 3D Star Tours ride is set to debut at Disney Hollywood Studios at Disney World in Orlando on May 20. New details have recently been released regarding the highly anticipated attraction.

The theme for the ride is set between Star Wars movies three and four. Star Tours will take riders to multiple destinations, where they will meet character from throughout the Saga. Guests will be immersed in the Star Wars Galaxy, thanks to digital filming, a dramatic musical score and motion-simulator technology. Plus, the attractions offers guests the opportunity to have a new experience each time they ride Star Tours as there are over 54 different story combination possible aboard the new ride.

Star Tours also has a unique queue, part of Disney’s efforts to entertain guests throughout their park experience. The queue resembles a spaceport, complete with C-3PO and the R2-D2, who will greet guests. After trekking through the spaceport, guests board the Starspeeder 1000 spacecraft and prepare for flight. The plot of the attraction finds C-3PO, accidently, in the pilot’s seat as he and R2-D2 take the controls and try to outwit and outrun the evil Empire.

During the 3D ride, guests will visit planets made famous by the Star Wars films and they can also visit the forests of the Wookie planet Kashyyyk, the deserts of Tatooine, the deep waters of Naboo and the blizzards of Hoth. Yoda, Admiral Ackbar, Darth Vadar and Boba Fett are also featured during the attraction.
