Fantasyland has officially opened at Disney World Orlando. The expansion, which is the largest in park history, is bringing favorite characters to the forefront with The Little Mermaid and Beauty and The Beast central to the new area in the Magic Kingdom. Character meet and greets are a signature of Fantasyland and integral to the attractions guests will find here. Read on to find out more about the new experiences at Fantasyland.

Enchanted Tales with Belle: At this interactive attraction, Disney World visitors enter the cottage where Belle and her father live. The cottage is true to the classic Disney film, as Maurice’s workshop with his tools and inventions as well as items like the wishing well, the fireplace, a table, Belle’s books and a teapot on display. A magical mirror transports guests to the Beast’s library where Belle and Lumiere share a classic “tale as old as time” for a unique storytelling experience.

Be Our Guest Restaurant: Located inside Beast Castle, the 500-seat Be Our Guest Restaurant brings The Beauty and The Beast movie to life with scenes, music and props from the movie. A beautiful mural on the celling of the grand dining hall, a tapestry room woven with famous scenes from the film, the torn painting of Beast and the iconic red rose all make one feel as if they have walked into the world of Belle and the Beast. Unique touches like snow falling outside the floor-to-ceiling windows and the mosaic art of Belle and the transformed Beast dancing add to the atmosphere. As the movie is set in France, French-inspired cuisine is served at the restaurant. At lunch, guests order from touch-screen menus and get a rose that they take to their table; the rose tells the food cart where to find the table. At night, it becomes an upscale sit-down, table-service restaurant with wine and beer available.

Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid: Eric’s Castle is home to this Ariel-inspired ride. After entering the grottos of the castle, which creates a “going under the sea” effect, rider’s voyage with Ariel aboard Clamshell-shaped cars. Scenes from the movie and music from the film envelope the attraction, with characters like Sebastian the Crab, Ursula, and King Triton making appearances. Afterwards, you can join the Little Mermaid in the Ariel’s Grotto meet and greet.

Storybook Circus: The reimagined area inside the Magic Kingdom features the Dumbo the Flying Elephant attraction, Pete’s Silly Sideshow and Goofy’s Barnstormer roller coaster. Dumbo the Flying Elephant treats guests to an interactive queue that’s almost as much fun as the ride itself. When guests arrive they will be given a circus ticket pager that will virtually hold their place and notify them when it’s their time to board Dumbo the Flying Elephant. In the meantime, guests are invited to go under the Big Top, and play fun and interactive games. A second Dumbo the Flying Elephant attraction has also opened in the same area too, making it even easier to hop aboard everybody’s favorite elephant. At Pete’s Silly Sideshow in Storybook Circus, Goofy, Donald, Daisy and Minnie are circus stars waiting to meet and greet their fans.

Princess Fairytale Hall: The enchanting new attraction invites visitors to live out their dream of meeting a real Disney princess. Cinderella and Rapunzel call Princess Fairytale Hall home, and other princesses are always visiting for even more magical meet and greet moments. As loyal subjects to the Disney princess, visitors have a choice of two queues. There is one for Cinderella and a visiting princess or one for Rapunzel and a visiting princess. Each princess is located in her own elegant chamber featuring an ideal fairytale atmosphere perfect for coming face-to-face with these timeless Disney characters. Every detail has been expertly designed, from the large painting of a fairytale landscape to the table with a set of storybooks that bear the titles of fairytales in the language of the original tale. Rose vases, walls adorned with crowns and other royal imagery and elegant furnishings complete the scene. Please note: Anna and Elsa from the Disney movie Frozen are currently meeting and greeting guests at Princess Fairytale Hall.

The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train: Some of Disney’s most classic yet beloved characters – Sleepy, Doc, Bashful, Grumpy, Sneezy, Dopey and Happy – magically come to life on the new ride they’ve inspired. Hop aboard the family-style Seven Dwarfs Mine Train coaster for a rollicking, music filled journey into the mine where diamonds shine. There are a lot of signature details from the film Snow White. You’ll cross a stone bridge and walk through a magnificent forest home to the Dwarf’s cottage. And that’s before you even board the ride! Once you board the ride vehicles, which feature first of its kind pivots allowing for your vehicle to rock back and forth, you’re in for a surprise-filled adventure with the dwarfs and Snow White as your guide. Lines can be long, so be sure to enjoy the fun mine-themed activities as you pass through the pre-ride area.
