LEGOLAND Florida General Manager Adrian Jones officially announced the park’s much anticipated LEGOLAND Hotel will open in 2015. The announcement was made alongside community leaders with a ceremonial groundbreaking moment at the site where the hotel will be built, directly to the left of LEGOLAND Florida’s entrance, just steps from Lake Eloise.

“The opening of a LEGOLAND Hotel will transition LEGOLAND Florida from a single-day visit theme park to a multi-day resort destination,” said Jones. “This will serve as a catalyst for future economic development in Polk County.”

SeaWorld has released a statement regarding the cancellations:“While we’re disappointed a small group of misinformed individuals was able to deny fans what would have been great concerts at SeaWorld, we respect the bands’ decisions. Martina McBride has cancelled and we expect that other artists will be targeted in this campaign.”The bands and artists have a standing invitation to visit any of our parks to see firsthand or to speak to any of our animal experts to learn for themselves how we care for animals and how little truth there is to the allegations made by animal extremist groups opposed to the zoological display of marine mammals.””We continue to book other bands and artists as we plan for another great Bands, Brew & BBQ event in 2014. We’ll announce our full lineup when all artists have been confirmed.””More than 11 million people a year visit SeaWorld parks and most will see a killer whale presentation during their visit. Over the course of our 50-year history, hundreds of millions of people have experienced killer whales in our parks. There is tremendous appeal in that kind of inspirational and educational experience, and we anticipate that killer whale display will continue for generations to come. We have always understood that we have an obligation to every animal living at SeaWorld to provide the highest quality care and to interpret the animals for our guests in ways that are meaningful and enriching. The benefits of zoological display also include conservation of wild populations, animal rescue, and scientific research.”

See the dazzling Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios this holiday season.  The Disney World Theme Park will twinkle with lights during the event, creating a must-see spectacle for park goers.  Presented at the Disney Park every holiday season since 1995, this stunning light show adds an extra dose of festive fun to any Disney World Christmas vacation

The show, which will be featured November 8, 2013, through January 5, 2014, is presented approximately every 10 minutes.  Lights dance to holiday music, “snow” falls from the sky and the entire Streets of America portion of the park becomes alive with the holiday spirit.  Grab a cup of cocoa and stroll the streets as you gaze at over 4 million twinkling lights, complete with heralded angels flying overhead.

Interestingly enough, this fantastic holiday display got its start in Arkansas.  Jennings Osborne began creating amazing holiday light displays with his family, and it soon grew o millions of lights and elaborate displays to which people from all over the state came to see.  Displeased with the traffic it was causing, the local residents intervened legally and just when it looked as if the display would come to an end, Disney World stepped up to share this holiday magic with people from across the country. Still to this day, around 80% of the lights on display originate from the original Osborne displays.

Make the Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights a part of your Disney World holiday traditions.

Disney recently announced details regarding Avatar Land, the immersive new world planned for Walt Disney World Orlando. Concept art, renderings, and a model photo were also released, along with details of new nighttime entertainment coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

In collaboration with filmmaker James Cameron, Walt Disney Imagineering is bringing the land of Pandora to life, inspired by Cameron’s “Avatar.” The new land will feature floating mountains, bioluminescent rainforests and soaring Banshees, all part of the largest expansion in Disney’s Animal Kingdom history.

Even though details are scarce regarding the experiences and entertainment planned for Avatar Land, a few hints have been given in the concept art.  A boat ride though the glowing world of Pandora looks intriguing, while after-dark entertainment centered around and above Discovery River, including live performers on Discovery Island, and a new night version of Kilimanjaro Safaris are also planned.  You can also see a glowing version of the Tree of Life seen in this artwork, linking the park’s icon to the world of Avatar, in which a glowing tree is at the center of the film’s Na’vi race.

Contruction is set to begin soon and Avatar Land will debut at the Animal Kingdom in 2016.
