Orlando, Florida is home to a number of thrilling attractions but Florida EcoSafaris has just upped the ante by adding a new Zip Line Roller Coaster to its park.  This is only the second zip line of its kind in the world.  Known as The Rattlesnake, the zip coaster is different than any other zip line adventure you’ve experience before.

For starters, The Rattlesnake uses a rigid track as opposed to a flexible wire.  The track features dips, tight turns and other coaster-style elements.  You begin you coaster experience by climbing up a 65-foot launch platform.  From there you’ll fly through the trees at speeds of 20mph and discover 1,000 feet of nature inspired roller coaster-style zip line.

Florida EcoSafaris at Forever Florida offer several different ways to experience the other side of Florida. You can go on a Zip Line Safari, featuring seven zip lines; a two-hour guided Coach Safari; or saddle up for a Horseback Safari.
Old Town is hosting American Hero Fest this Sunday, April 29.  The day-long event will celebrate men and women who dedicate their lives to protecting and serving their country.  Armed forces personnel, police, fire department, and emergency service workers will all be honored. 
From noon to 8pm, free entertainment, including live music and stilt walkers, will be available.  All of Old Town’s 21 rides and attractions will be open, as will the 80 shops and seven restaurants located on site.  A ride in a vintage T-6 Texan airplane will be raffled off too.
The full line-up includes:
  • Live Entertainment on stage from 12:30 to 4pm
  • Blood Drive from noon to 6pm
  • Street Entertainment from noon to 8pm
  • Appreciation Ceremony at 4pm at the Old Town Stage
  • Parade through Old Town’s Main Street at 6pm

Disney Stars Wars Weekends features one of the galaxy’s largest gatherings of Star Wars characters all around the theme park, offering photo and autograph opportunities as well as special Star Wars parades, trivia challenges, a Jedi Training Academy, limited edition merchandise and memorabilia, behind the scenes presentations, star conversations and more.  This year’s event also features “Hyperspace Hoopla,” a high-energy show with music, comedy and dancing starring some of the famed Star Wars characters like Ewoks, Wookiees, stormtroopers and Jawas.

Universal Orlando Resort has just announced the Rock the Universe line-up for 2012!  Rock the Universe is one of Florida’s biggest Christian music festivals and features some of the best bands in Christian Rock.  The festival is scheduled for September 7 and 8.

All of the signature Universal Studio attractions will be open during Rock the Universe.  You can look forward to riding Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rock It, The Simpsons Ride and Revenge of the Mummy.

The Great American Pie Festival returns to Celebration, Florida on April 28 and 29, 2012.  It’s a pie-lovers dream with a Never-Ending Pie Buffet with award-winning pie, ice cream and toppings a highlight of the event.  The Festival has free-admission and draws quite the crowd, with over 30,000 in attendance last year.
Some of the activities at the Great American Pie Festival include:

The Festival is located at Lakeside Park in downtown Celebration for 11am-7pm on Saturday, April 28 and noon to 5pm on Sunday, April 29.
The Summer Concert Series at Universal Orlando Resort is a summer staple. This season the Summer Concert Series is better than ever as part of the Extraordinary Year to Be Here promotion happening all year long at the Orlando theme park.
On Saturday nights from June 9- July 14, you’ll be able to rock out to some of music’s biggest and most popular performers.  With the purchase of Universal Orlando tickets you can enjoy the live concerts as well as all of Universal’s thrilling rides and attractions.

LEGOLAND Florida is less than two months away from opening the LEGOLAND Waterpark.  The new waterpark officially opens on May 26, 2012.  Guest with LEGOLAND Florida tickets can upgrade to water park attraction ticket for an additional $12 per person (children under 3 are $3).  Plus, LEGOLAND is currently offering value-based Two Days for the Price of One tickets ensuring you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy all the park has to offer.

Curious about what the LEGOLAND Waterpark is all about?  The waterpark will be geared towards kids ages 2-12 and feature a wave pool, lazy river, tube slides and an interactive water-play structure.

Viva La Musica spices up Busch Gardens Tampa Bay each Sunday from April 15 through May 6.  Purchase Busch Gardens tickets and join the fiesta!  All concerts are included with park admission.

Viva La Musica features food, drink and fun for the entire family.  Regional Latin cuisine, arts, crafts, dance and music will be available throughout the festival area, as well as performances from award-winning Latin artists.  Festival events at Busch Gardens begin at 12pm.
