ASeaWorld Christmas is a fun event the whole family will enjoy. From November 25, 2011 – December 31, 2011, SeaWorld Orlando will feature spectacular festivities and unforgettable experiences that celebrate the holiday season. Festivities include a dramatic holiday simulator ride, special Shamu Christmas show, special activities on The Waterfront and a holiday fountain show. Christmas at SeaWorld is presented Friday-Sunday November 25-December 11, and nightly December 16-December 31.

SeaWorld encourages guests to hop aboard The Polar Express Experience for a magical trip to the North Pole. SeaWorld’s Wild Arctic simulator transforms into a thrilling expedition to fabled Santa Town. Classic scenes from the movie and book of the same name, written by Chris Van Allsburg, are recreated for a multi-sensory experience that immerses passengers in special lighting, scent, and sound and motion effects. Guests will find themselves in a winter wonderland surrounded by holiday cheer, beluga whales, polar bears and walruses. The delicious smell of Christmas cookies fill the air and twinkling lights dazzle on a festive tree as families greet Santa and share a magical holiday moment.

Another attraction that is sight to see is the Sea of Trees. Stroll through a wintery wonderland of holiday trees that sparkles to music and lights up the waterfront. The lights literally dance to music, creating a Christmas treat for all.

Holiday shows at Sea World include Shamu Christmas Miracles, Winter Wonderland on Ice!, A Sesame Street Christmas, and Clyde & Seamore’s Countdown to Christmas.

Shamu Stadium presents Shamu Christmas Miracles, a captivating show that helps guests celebrate the holiday season as Christmas carols, bright lights and glowing candles fill the stadium. The 22-minute show comes to life daily at SeaWorld.

Winter Wonderland on Ice!, at the Bayside Stadium, is an ice skating extravaganza featuring that is highlighted by water fountains, fireworks and cutting edge skate routines.
Holiday Reflections: Fireworks and Fountains Finale celebrates the season with soaring fountains, luminous lights and festive fireworks, choreographed to popular Christmas carols.

Park guests will also want to stroll along The Waterfront to explore the shops, listen to the harmony of the carolers and share their Christmas wishes with Santa. Nightly snow flurries fall upon guests, creating a wonderful holiday environment.

Celebrate the season at Universal Orlando Resort, where Grinchmas and the Macy’s Holiday Parade are featured. The holiday cheer begins December 3, 2011, and lasts through January 1st, 2012.

At Universal Studios Florida, guests can head to the streets of New York for the 10th Anniversary Macy’s Holiday Parade. This seasonal favorite features authentic floats and balloons direct from the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade in New York City. Festive street performers and talented marching bands from around the country create the parade, which includes Santa himself. Afterwards, there is a beautiful tree lighting ceremony with music and a dazzling display of lights. 

The holiday concert series will feature Mannheim Steamroller on December 3rd, 4th, 10th, and 11th at 7pm, and at 8pm on December 17th and 18th.  Guests can also explore the nearby Holiday Village, which features unique ornaments, delicious treats to eat and drink, and crafts for kids.

Other holiday events at Universal Studios Orlando Florida include the StarToons Holiday Show, featuring your favorite characters dance to holiday tunes; A Barney Holiday, a magical sing-a-long show at A Day in the Park with Barney; and The Blues Brothers Holiday Show with Jake and Elwood performing festive favorites like “Santa Clause is Coming to Town.”

At Islands of Adventure Universal Orlando Seuss Landing is transformed into the wintry wonderland of Grinchmas. It features the popular live musical performance of “How The Grinch Stole Christmas,” which stars The Grinch and includes music recorded by Mannheim Steamroller. Guests are encouraged to stroll through the Whoville Wonky Tree Lot and take in the zany Wholiday decorations.

Holiday Breakfast with The Grinch is also available to park goers. The breakfast event includes a delicious breakfast buffet and appearances by The Grinch, Whos and other memorable Dr. Seuss characters.

From December 26-31, Universal Studios presents Universal 360 – A Cinesphere Spectacular. Through unique technological innovations, guests can experience the sights and sounds of some of Hollywood’s biggest films projected onto huge spheres in the Universal Studios lagoon, accompanied by a dynamic laser display and dazzling pyrotechnic show.

Disney World Theme Parks presents Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party on select nights at the Magic Kingdom this holiday season in Orlando, Florida. This festive celebration is filled with live entertainment, dazzling fireworks and a merry holiday parade.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a special after-hours event that promises jolly fun for everyone. The event features an exclusive holiday fireworks extravaganza – Holiday Wishes: Celebrate the Spirit of the Season and the cnchanting Castle Dream Lights on Cinderella Castle.  Character greetings, complimentary cookies and hot cocoa and a magical snow fall on Main Street, U.S.A., are all part of the experience.  Live entertainment featuring your favorite Disney Characters is also planned.

Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade is a highlight of the event, as it features a special appearance by Santa Claus himself. It also showcases the various festive moods of the holiday season, showcasing themes such as Friends & Family, Winter Wonderland, Fairy Tale Christmastime, Christmastime Sweets and Mr. & Mrs. Claus. Cinderella’s Castle enchants visitors as it is covered in thousands of twinkling lights, covering the castle in a dazzling “blanket of ice” for a wintry effect.

LEGOLAND Florida may have just opened on October 15, 2011, but they are already planning to add a water park and themed hotel to the theme park.

The water park is scheduled to open in May.  Although plans have not been finalized yet, LEGOLAND did say it will feature LEGO elements, including the ability to build your own LEGO raft and float down a river.

The LEGOLAND water park will require an upgrade to the regular LEGOLAND Florida ticket.  It too will be geared towards kids ages 2-12. 

 The LEGOLAND hotel will open in 2014 or 2015, creating a multiday destination for families.  The addition of the LEGOLAND Florida Theme Park makes an Orlando vacation even more appealing, as the well-designed park caters to young children and focuses on their fun.

Fantasy of Flight has a new attraction that lets guests fly through the skies and test their confidence. The new attraction is dubbed the Wing WalkAir and it features a 600-foot zipline suspended four stories above water and a three-level ropes course with 33 midair challenges.

Fantasy of Flight, located just south of Orlando, is home to over 40 rare and vintage aircraft many of which have been restored to flyable condition.  The facility also features interactive attractions, guided tours and working restoration and maintenance areas.  With the addition of Wing WalkAir, Fantasy of Flight has created a whole new way for guests to have fun on their visit.
During the month of October, the Orlando attraction features a daily Haunted Hanger Storytelling Tour at 11:30am.  The tour retells entertaining tales of spirits and spooks, including Lindbergh’s companion spirits and the ghost of the Red Baron.
On November 12 and 13, Fantasy of Flight hosts the 5th Annual Roar ‘n Soar, an event featuring high energy excitement and thrills from land, sea and air combine with awesome food, entertainment and the world’s great aviation attraction for a weekend the whole family will enjoy. 

Some of the featured events include:

Slalom – Drivers compete for the fastest time while they race the clock maneuvering through a slalom course on the hangar tarmac. This sanctioned race offers prime spectator viewing and comes to Roar n’ Soar courtesy of The Jaguar Club of Florida and Sun Coast Jaguar Clubs. Sea World Orlando is working on an expansion that will add new attractions to the marine park.

Although few details have been released yet, one park element that is definitely changing is the Penguin Encounter.  The walk-through encounter, which displays several species of penguins, will close in December for 18 months. Speculation as to what will replace the area includes Antarctica, a themed area featuring penguins, or SnowWorld, an indoor “dark ride.” 

SeaWorld is also redeveloping its Manatee Rescue attraction, which will in 2012.  The redeveloped attraction supposedly features a circular theater and a new sea-turtle movie that ties in with the theatrical documentary released this past summer, changing the focus to include both manatees and sea turtles.

Discovery Cove, the high-end boutique park located next door to SeaWorld Orlando, plans to convert a saltwater reef area into a freshwater environment referred to as “Flooded Rainforest Trail.”  Another name in the works is “Flooded Forest River Trails.”

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is presenting a new show for the 2012 season. The show, which will be performed at the Moroccan Theater, is named Iceploration. It is scheduled to begin on February 2, 2012 and will feature ice skating, puppetry and live animals. The show is included with the purchase of Busch Gardens tickets.

The 30-minute show is the largest, most ambitious production Busch Gardens has ever done. The theme of the story told within the show revolved around Austin, a digitally connected preteen, his old-world explorer grandfather and their adventure around the globe as Austin learns life lessons about really being connected to the world around him.

During Iceploration, Austin and his Grandfather travel to the African Serengeti, the Great Barrier Reef, the Arctic and the Amazon Rainforest. Throughout their travel adventures, the show comes to life as larger-than-life puppets, top-notch skaters, acrobats, dazzling costumes and sets, and even real animals take the stage.

The Moroccan Palace hosts Christmas on Ice this holiday season, with several shows daily from November 21, 2011 through January 1, 2012.
