A Frozen Fun Zone is also planned, and an Ice DJ will present interactive games and activities. Wild Things at Seafire Inn, a show featuring nature’s most misunderstood creepy creatures, will take center stage at the Seafire Inn.
SeaWorld Spooktacular takes place on October 1-2, 8-9, 15-16, 22-23, 28-30, 2011.

A new type of terror is taking root at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. On 18 select nights, from September 23 through October 29, the theme park transforms into a frightening Florida haunt for those who dare to be scared. This year’s Howl-O-Scream theme is “Dark Side of the Gardens: Zombies Live Here.”

This year’s new haunted houses include “Nevermore,” an Edgar Allan Poe themed maze described as living horror story complete with beating hearts, disillusionment, swinging pendulums, and a raven’s cries; “Ultimate Gamble – Vampire Casino” features high stakes thrills at Revivara Casino; and “Zombie Mortuary” takes guests to a mortuary where they may or may not get our alive.
Returning Haunted Houses include Death Row Vengeance, Deconstruction, Nightshade Toys and Alone.
Howl-O-Scream shows are highlighted by The Midnight Hour, a dinner show at the Hellfire Club; and Fiends, featuring Dr. Frankenstein.
Other frightening features includes zombies lurking throughout Busch Gardens and chance to ride Cheetah Hunt at night, among Busch Gardens’ other fear-inducing attractions.

The $100 million project will feature the Orlando Eye, an observation wheel similar to the London Eye. The 425-foot high wheel will offer spectacular views of Orlando and is just one of the attractions set to debut at I-Drive Live. The complex will also include a Sea Life Aquarium, Madame Tussauds Wax Museum and several restaurants. A few of the restaurants that are planned include a Steakhouse, Italian Eatery and Key West seafood restaurant. A country-western bar is also in the works.
The 19-acre development is also looking to add two hotels in a second phase.
Merlin Entertainment will manage the attraction.

New Ropes Course at Old Town

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party – This special holiday event is held on 19 select evenings between November 8 and December 18, 2011. During the event, Cinderella’s Castle is transformed in the Castle of Dream Lights plus Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade and the Holiday Wishes – Celebrate the Spirit of the Season fireworks spectacular are featured. Castle Dream Lights – Each evening of the holiday season, Cinderella’s Castle shimmers with lights during a ceremonial show performed at dusk.
Candlelight Processional – A rotating cast of celebrity narrators share the traditional Christmas story accompanied by a mass choir and a 50-piece live orchestra. This event takes place on select nights November 25-December 30, 2011.
Holidays around the World – International storytellers shared traditions and tales through the World Showcase at Epcot. Meet and greets with Santa and Mrs. Clause are available in the American Adventure area, while Kwanzaa and Hanukkah are celebrated as well.
The Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights – Located in the Hollywood Studios back lot, this lights show features millions of dazzling lights and animated displays synchronized to holiday tunes. The Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights takes place November 10, 2011-January 3, 2012.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Mickey’s Jingle Jungle Parade – A safari-style holiday parade led by King Louis and Baloo takes place daily at 4pm. Mickey’s Jingle Jungle Parade is scheduled for November 8, 2011-January 4, 2012.
Santa Goofy’s Holiday Village at Camp Minnie-Mickey – Guests can meet Santa Goofy and friends at the holiday village where they can get their photos with the characters and hear holiday carolers.

Florida EcoSafaris at Forever Florida
is the place to go to experience the other side of the sunny state. The 4,700-acre wildlife conservation area offers horseback riding, ziplining and safari tours. Now, the Orlando
attraction also offers guests the chance to cycle through the skies with their all-new Cypress Canopy Cycle
. It is the first in the United States and only the second in the world. The very first canopy cycle is located at Hidden Worlds Adventure Park in Tulum, Mexico.
The new adventure lets guest experience Forever Florida in an entirely new way. The ride technology was developed by ECO-Adventure Technologies. Essentially the cycles are reclining bicycles suspended from a network of high-tension steel cables. Riders can reach heights of up to 25 feet as they pedal their way through the treetops of Forever Florida. The ride allows for upclose treetop views and other sights that otherwise would not be accessible. Guests are encourages to bring a camera to capture their tour.
The Cypress Canopy Cycle tour lasts approximately one hour. The cost is $45 and participants must be 10 years old and weight no more than 275 pounds.
Note: I’ve experienced the Canopy Cycle at Hidden World in Tulum, Mexico and it really is a unique, above-the-treetops experience. I’m very excited to see this type of Eco-Attraction come to the states!

happens on 23 select nights between September 13 and November 1, 2011. This after-hours event features trick or treating throughout the park, a “Happy HalloWishes” fireworks spectacular and Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade. Plus, other Disney attractions will be open as well so the Halloween fun never ends!
Epcot International Food & Wine Festival
: From September 30 through November 13 guests can go on a culinary adventure at Epcot as they host this popular festival. The World Showcase Lagoon features more than two dozen marketplaces where you can eat, drink and explore the culture of Italy, Thailand, New Zealand, Chile, Morocco, China and the United States, among others. Cooking demonstrations, wine tastings and the Eat to the Best! Concert series will also be available.
Festival of the Masters
: Downtown Disney welcomes almost 150 award-winning artists during this festival, held November 11-13, 2011. Clay, wood, metals, oils, watercolors and other creations will be on display, as will jewelry, paintings, sculptures and photographs.

Busch Gardens Tampa
has launched an official mobile application to help guide guests through the park. Available for iPhone and Android phones, the application is designed to make the guest experience even better by giving them park details and helping them get the most out of their Busch Gardens visit.
The application features an interactive map that shows guests exactly where they are in the park and allow them to highlight the quickest route to their next destination by utilizing the “Take Me There” element of the application. The app will also give details about the destinations, including details on its location, menu, restrictions, wait times and more. Guests can also search for nearby restrooms, lockers and ATMS.

Kids can train to be knights at Medieval Times
in Orlando, Florida
. On select nights in August, guests can “Train to be a Knight
,” all free of charge.
The training takes place about an hour prior to showtime. Get there early to sing up your young lords and ladies as this is a popular event. The kids-in-training will receive exclusive weapons demonstrations by the knights and learn about the grueling training involved. The experience ends with the children being knighted by is majesty King Philippe.

Although the knight experience is free, Medieval Times tickets for the night’s performance are required.
