Universal Orlando Resort is adding some new options to CityWalk, Universal Orlando’s entertainment district.

The Orlando resort announced yesterday, December 15, that it has installed an IMAX theater in CityWalk’s 20-screen Cineplex. The changes included adding IMAX’s digital-project system and upgrading the sound system.

The new IMAX Theater will open at 12:01am on December 18, coinciding with the premiere of the highly anticipated “Avatar” movie.

Universal City Walk Orlando is also adding two new eateries – Fusion Bistro Sushi & Sake Bar and a Fat Tuesday frozen-daiquiri bar. Fusion will open in January and Fat Tuesday will open in February.

Walt Disney World Theme Parks in Orlando are welcoming 2010 with celebrations throughout their famous theme parks.

Epcot will celebrate with dance parties in various locations throughout the park, as well as an encore presentation of the “Illuminations” fireworks & laser show at midnight. Epcot celebrates New Year’s Eve with an “Around the World” theme that is located throughout the World Showcase area once the sun goes down. Epcot will be open until 1:00am.
The Magic Kingdom rings in the New Year with a special presentation of “Spectromagic,” an electric parade filled with lights and multiple firework displays. Its regularly scheduled parades, including “”Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade,” and shows like “Holiday Wishes,” will also be performed. The grand finale of the night is “Fantasy in the Sky,” a 360-degree countdown in the sky that begins around 11:50pm. The Magic Kingdom will be open until 1:00am.
At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, guests can enjoy multiple presentations of “Fantastmic,” as well as enjoy the DJ Dance Party located at the Sorcerer Hat Stage. The fireworks spectacular – “Lights! Camera! Happy New Year!” – will close the night. Disney’s Hollywood Studios will remain open until 12:00am.
All events at the Disney Theme Parks are included with regular Disney admission.
Visitors might also want to go to Disney’s Boardwalk, where bars and dance clubs will be open late for New Year’s Eve festivities. Epcot’s fireworks display will be able to be seen near Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club. Live entertainment and music will be available throughout the night. Disney’s Boardwalk will be open until 2:00am. New Years Eve Festivities will also be available at Downtown Disney. It will host live entertainment and street dancers and have party favors for all attendees. A fireworks display at midnight is planned.

SeaWorld is celebrating New Years Eve with live music, fireworks and a countdown to 2010 in the Waterfront section of the park on December 31, 2009. At the stroke of midnight, guests will watch the Orlando sky burst into a brilliant firework show that will celebrate the year 2010. SeaWorld’s New Years Eve party is included with regular park admission.

While you’re at SeaWorld, enjoying their fabulous shows like “Shamu Rocks” and exciting rides like “Manta,” it’s also a good time to take a trip to the North Pole on the Polar Express. To create the Polar Express Experience, SeaWorld transformed its Wild Arctic simulator into a multi-sensory experience that takes guests on a thrilling expedition to fabled Santa Town. It’s a great way to create a special holiday moment.
Through January 3, 2010, SeaWorld Orlando will also be showcasing their holiday shows, which include “Shamu Christmas – Miracles,” “A Sesame Street Christmas,” and “Winter Wonderland on Ice.”

Universal Orlando Resort is hosting Orlando’s hottest New Year’s Eve Celebration on December 31st, from 8pm – 2am. Live entertainment, gourmet cuisine options and exciting festivities create a New Year’s Eve Celebration that’s fun for everyone.

Performances by the award-winning Temptations and The Four Tops are scheduled throughout the night. The Temptations are famous for hits like “The Way You Do The Things You Do,” “My Girl,” “Get Ready” and “I Can’t Get Next to You.” The Four Tops made a mark on the music scene with hits like “Baby, I Need Your Loving,” “I Can’t Help Myself” and “Ask the Lonely.” Live entertainment will also be available at every club at CityWalk.

Disney’s Epcot Theme Park is presenting its 39th Annual Candlelight Processional November 27 – December 30, 2009. The processional takes place every evening with showtimes at 5pm, 6:45pm & 8pm. Each show is about 40 minutes in length.
The Candlelight Processional at Epcot is a moving presentation of the Christmas story that features a mass choir, 50-piece orchestra and a celebrity narrator.
The event is located in the America Gardens Theater in World Showcase at Epcot.
The Candlelight Processional is included in Epcot admission.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is unwrapping an all-new show this year – “A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas!” The rockin’ stage show features Stitch, Buzz Lightyear, Mike Wazowski and an excited cast of party-goers who discover the true meaning of Christmas during their annual Christmas party. This production is an interactive musical highlighting songs of the season the theme of today’s popular Radio Disney hits.

A ticket to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party also includes “Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade,” “Holiday Wishes Fireworks Spectacular,” plus special Disney shows and festive décor and lighting displays.
The remaining dates for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party include November 29 and December 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 17, 18, with the merriment beginning at 7 pm and continuing until midnight.

The holiday season is upon us and Busch Gardens Tampa is celebrating the spirit of the season with the return of several holiday classics.

Starting November 21, the Stanleyville Theater at Busch Gardens will present “Christmas on Ice,” a limited engagement show featuring a cast of professional skaters in a magnificent winter wonderland. At the Marrakesh Theater “Christmas from the Heart” will be performed, which is a show filled with inspiring holiday gospel and spiritual songs performed by a live choir.
Guests can also choose to have breakfast with Santa and his merry elves on select mornings in December. Enjoy some exciting and unforgettable photo opportunities with Santa as well as his holiday elves followed by a fabulous performance of the traditional family favorite, “Christmas Celebration.” This fun-filled experience begins at 8:30 am in the Desert Grill. Adult admission is $20 and child admission is $14.

The rest of Busch Gardens is bedecked in holiday splendor featuring strolling carolers, Christmas characters and classic holiday music.

Busch Gardens begins the countdown to New Year with fireworks December 26-30, with the Ultimate New Year’s Eve celebration on the 31st.

The Orlando Food & Wine Fest returns to Downtown Orlando November 14th & 15th. The festival will celebrate great food, wine and entertainment along Robinson Street along Lake Eola from Rosalind to Eola Drive. The setting provides the perfect atmosphere to stroll from vendor to vendor and enjoy the many flavors available at the Food & Wine Fest.

Over 35 of Orlando’s top restaurants will be featured during the festival, and the very popular Sports Bar will return so guests can watch their favorite games. The Metro PCS Main stage will feature two days of live entertainment, the Brighthouse Chef’s Stage will present seminars and cooking demonstrations and multiple vendors, wine stations and beverage stations will be available.

The entertainment scheduled includes the Matt Shenk Band, Rico Monaco & Sol Sons “A Tribute to Santana,” Tropical Steel Band, Warren Hill and Average White Band on Saturday. Sunday will feature T Scott TropRockers Band, Oil Silk, and Nick Colionne with Maysa. The entertainment stage is located in the northeast corner of the park, at the corner of Eola & Robinson.

The Orlando Food & Wine Fest is open Saturday, from 12pm – 9pm and on Sunday, from 12pm – 6pm.

Universal Orlando Resorts embrace the holiday spirit as both of their parks feature holiday fun for everyone. The holiday festivities begin December 5th and end January 1st.

At Universal Studios, guests can head to the streets of New York for Macy’s Holiday Parade. This seasonal favorite features authentic floats and balloons, including several brand new ones, direct from the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade in New York City. Festive street performers and talented marching bands from around the country create the parade, which includes Santa himself. Afterwards, there is a beautiful tree lighting ceremony with music and a gorgeous display of lights.
The KidZone Holiday show, Barney’s Christmas Show and Blues Brothers Christmas Show are also planned.
The all-new Holiday Concert Series at Universal Studios new Music Plaza will feature Mannheim Steamroller on December 5th; Chris Isaak on December 12th; and Natalie Cole on December 19th.
From December 26-31, Universal Studios presents Universal 360 – A Cinesphere Spectacular. Through unique technological innovations, guests can experience the sights and sounds of some of Hollywood’s biggest films projected onto huge spheres in the Universal Studios lagoon, accompanied by a dynamic laser display and dazzling pyrotechnic show.
At Islands of Adventure at Universal Orlando Resort Seuss Landing is transformed into the wintry wonderland of Grinchmas. It features the popular live musical performance of “How The Grinch Stole Christmas,” which stars The Grinch and includes music recorded by Mannheim Steamroller. Guests are encouraged to stroll through the Whoville Wonky Tree Lot and take in the zany Wholiday decorations.
Holiday Breakfast with The Grinch is also available to park goers. The breakfast event includes a delicious breakfast buffet and appearances by The Grinch, Whos and The Cat in the Hat. This does cost extra and is $19.95 for adults and $13.95 (plus tax).

Christmas at SeaWorld is fun for the whole family! From November 13, 2009 through January 3, 2010 SeaWorld will feature spectacular festivities and unforgettable experiences that celebrate the holiday season. Festivities include a dramatic holiday simulator ride, holiday fountain show and special activities on The Waterfront.

SeaWorld encourages guests to hop aboard The Polar Express Experience for a magical trip to the North Pole. SeaWorld’s Wild Arctic simulator transforms into a thrilling expedition to fabled Santa Town. Classic scenes from the movie and book of the same name, written by Chris Van Allsburg, are recreated for a multi-sensory experience that immerses passengers in special lighting, scent, and sound and motion effects. Guests will find themselves in a winter wonderland surrounded by holiday cheer, beluga whales, polar bears and walruses. The delicious smell of Christmas cookies fill the air and twinkling lights dazzle on a festive tree as families greet Santa and share a magical holiday moment.
SeaWorld guests will then want to stroll along The Waterfront to explore the shops, listen to the harmony of the carolers and share their Christmas wishes with Santa. Nightly snow flurries fall upon guests, creating a wonderful holiday environment.
The spirit of the season is also celebrated at the Makahiki Christmas Luau, a south seas-style festivity that includes authentic Christmas music, costumes and dance reinterpreted with Polynesian rhythms. A delicious island-inspired dinner is served during this production.
Shamu Stadium presents Shamu Christmas….Miracles, a captivating show that helps guests celebrate the holiday season as Christmas carols, bright lights and glowing candles fill the stadium. The 22-minute show comes to life daily at SeaWorld.
