"Great location, a little expensive, poor food choices"

My girlfriend and I visited the dolphin for 4 nights. The hotel had just finished renovations(on time) and our room was pristine. We arrived at 10:00am and were in our room by noon. They gave us the first available clean room, because we arrived early. I paid a bit extra for a balcony, but we ended up with a room facing Epcot with 2 balconies. We sat outside and watched illuminations fireworks from our deck. The pool was great. They had a quiet pool, an area with music playing, and servers coming around taking drink orders. The restaurants in the hotel were a bit pricey (all of disney) for what you were getting. They are about to open a cafe with salads/coffee/sandwiches the end of this month which looks to be great for a quick breakfast or lunch. Location was great, 10 minutes walk to epcot or boat ride. If you wanted to go for a walk the beach club and boardwalk were 5 minutes away. My biggest complaint was that the dolphin happens to be the last stop for all free disney transportation. After a long day, and sitting on a packed bus from the parks.. frankly you just want it to be over. The route stops at the boardwalk first, the swan and then the dolphin. We spent a decent amount of time at disney springs and waited over 35 minutes for a bus on multiple locations. To remedy this issue we took transportation to the beach club (direct stop) and walked 5-10 minutes or hopped off at the boardwalk and did the same. Also, we alerted the front desk.. we had 5-10 small ants on the floor of our bathroom and on our tv stand. I assume they came in from our balcony.. nothing earth shattering. Overall we had a great stay.. the room was far beyond our expectations, location was great. We likely wont be headed back to disney for a while but next time we go i would look to stay in the swan or dolphins.

"Fantastic WDW stay!"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5

I stayed here for a 3 night/ 4 day JetBlue vacation. The decor and detailing of this restaurant was fantastic! The service from the concierge and staff were informed and very helpful with lots of information. I stayed in a room on the 17th floor and loved the view. I recommend trying a higher up room rather than a lower floor below 10 as you will notice due to hurricanes and hurricane season a few of the fountains are turned off. The room service maid was great, not at all haphazard as rumored. They cleaned the room at the same time everyday. My only negative would be that i disliked the design of the bathroom. The bathroom was shower and toilet inside and the sink on the outside. This is to give two people space to get ready, but I usually prefer it together. My second complaint is about their restaurant Picabu, which seemed somewhat unsanitary. The glass windows that show into Picabu has grime and was a bit off putting to me. Overall, I enjoyed my stay as this hotel was well situated in Epcot and allowed me to get around with rental cars or Disney transport.

"WDW for the rest of us"

WDW is very expensive. I often wonder how anyone - or who it is who - can afford it. The Swan/Dolphin resort is a way to get close to the full on Disney experience. This resort is situated by the Boardwalk (and all the attractions there) and between Epcot and Hollywood Studios (accessible by a boat ride). On the resort there's a sandy beach, multiple hot tubs, four pools, a water slide, pool bars, two gyms, restaurants, bars, ice cream parlor, buffets, and more fun features coming--we missed seeing the opening of a new food court in the Dolphin lobby. This is probably the best situated, run and appointed quasi-WDW resort you can hope for at a (relatively) reasonable price. Our view from the 17th floor was of both theme parks mentioned (he big golf ball at Epcot and the Tower of Terror at HS), the Boardwalk, the fireworks over Epcot, the light show below along the walkway between the Dolphin and Swan. It was just wonderful. The room was clean, fresh, roomy and perfect. We had fresh coffee, a fridge and a nice big flat screen TV. We loved drinks and wings at the pool bar. We enjoyed drinks and apps at the pricey BlueZoo. We were let down only by the lobby bar with a stale pretzel and pricier drinks. The availability and proximity to everything Disney, help desks, etc. was just great.

"Making a Green Choice program issues"
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5
Reviewed September 24, 2017 NEW
On check in we were asked if we wanted to participate in the resort's "green choice " program. I was surprised they offered "benefits " for doing so including a $5 daily voucher towards resort restaurants or 500 Starwood points as well as the daily in room complimentary water and coffee. They said each day those items would be left in a bag on our door handle. The first morning around 10 am I called Guest Services. After waiting an inordinate amount of time for someone to answer I was told that this is a big hotel and the items would be delivered eventually. Not great customer service. After pressing the issue they finally sent someone up with the package. On day 2 we found the package on our door after returning from the parks around 4pm. On day 3 we left the room around 12:30 and returned around 11pm. Again no package of water and coffee. Called again, waited again for someone to answer, was promised the coffee and water, and received only the coffee. Called AGAIN and was told that they would send someone up with the waters. Never received them. At this point we went to bed hoping the items would be delivered by the time we got up. It is now that morning. No waters and no $5 credit coupon either. The concept of the program is good. Unfortunately they don't have a team in place to execute it. When I asked why the package wasn't on the doors so we have them in the morning I was told that staff comes in around 8:30 and then went to their morning "meeting " before starting. Doesn't make sense. Guests want their morning coffee and would want to bring a bottle of water to the park with them This place charges a $28 daily resort fee which includes the water, coffee and housekeeping among other things. The $5 daily credit for Going Green isn't working. Stick to the housekeeping with the daily clean towels, sheets, water and coffee amenities. The $5 per day credit is not worth the aggravation. It's really too bad because it could have been a good program

"We love the Swan and Dolphin!!"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5
Reviewed September 19, 2017 NEW
We have stayed at the swan and dolphin at least a dozen times. This is the best spot on Disney property. The rooms, restaurants, pool are incredible plus walking distance to Epcot as well as the Studios. Most importantly is the staff, above and beyond. From check in to check out the staff was incredible. Front desk, better than most. Housekeeper could not have been nicer. Pool staff took great care of us. Thank you to everyone at the Swan and Dolphin for making this our home away from home when we are in central Florida. Special thanks to Kye!!!!
