"Just ok"

I was kind of disappointed at the room for how much we paid. We upgraded to a balcony room with a view to the fireworks at Epcott. Room was outdated and smelled musty. It wasn't worth the extra money.

We've stayed here many times since 2005, and this resort has had its ups and downs. The renovations are very nice, and the room was fairly clean, but not well appointed. We stayed in a 2 double bed room, the beds and pillows are extremely uncomfortable. I think the new mattresses are extremely firm, may work for some but for me, I had difficulty getting comfortable. The room is clean, however, apparently, they never clean behind the bathroom door. One day we came back to the room in the afternoon for a quick rest before dinner. Housekeeping had not come yet, but did show up around 5. I asked them to come back at 6:30 when we left for dinner, which I assume they did - however, they did not leave any new toiletries, nor did hey change the beds which I understand they are to do on the 3rd night. OK, that's not horrific - but it's not like we're at Motel 6 paying $49/night either. There was a small desk but no end table in the room which means you could not sit down and enjoy a cup of tea - very inconvenient. We asked for late check out, but were disappointed to be denied. OK maybe they are really booked, but in all the years before we've stayed here and at the Swan, we've never been denied and always come at this time of year. Also HBO is available only using the HBO GO website, but the internet connectivity on the smart TV was intermittent. Also the WiFi is extremely slow and also kicks you off frequently. All in all, not a bad stay, but not what I would call good customer service or left me to feel valued in any way.

During my last visit to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, 35 years ago, I peeked behind a construction wall in EPCOT and saw the beginning building of the Swan and Dolphin hotels. 35 years later, I stayed at the Dolphin – a beautiful hotel on Walt Disney World (WDW) property. I chose the Dolphin, from all of the WDW hotels, for two reasons: (1) I saw it when it was first being born, and (2) I could walk to EPCOT (my favorite WDW park) and Hollywood Studios (which I had never visited). However, the draw of history and location were soon overshadowed by the beauty of the grounds, the spaciousness of the rooms, the quality of the restaurants, and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff (cast members) – all of which brought a new dimension to staying “on WDW property.” I loved the feeling of being “home” at the Dolphin and visiting the Swan a few steps away was merely an extension of “home.” The venue is appropriate for adults, children, seniors, and people living with disabilities. I highly recommend considering the Dolphin or Swan for your next visit to Walt Disney World – and take some time from the parks to walk around the grounds and talk with the cast members. My enjoyment of the Dolphin greatly enhanced my entire Walt Disney World experience.

"2nd Visit for work still just as bad"

If it wasn’t for a work conference, I wouldn’t choose to come here. It’s definitely not somewhere I’d pay to bring kids for Disney. From the coffee bar in the lobby being disgustingly overpriced and trash, the dull hallways, non-atmospheric lobby, sub-standard over-priced restaurants. SPG hotels usually offer better, but it seems the temptation of the Disney captive audience is too much. I love Disney, but the lack of atmosphere really hurts this hotel. There are far far better hotels near Disney. Don’t waste your money on this one, besides the coffee is terrible and the fruit is moldy in the coffee bar.

"Sadly service was of the lowest quality we have experienced"

From help with luggage at arrival, to check in at front desk and room service, our experience sadly left us with a bad taste and a sense to never return to the Disney brand. The overall service is impersonal and one gets a sense of being stuck in a large bureaucratic organization which just puts up a show and pretense of providing service and where the individuals providing service are trying to get away with the least effort possible.

"Great resort if you like to walk"

We booked months in advance to get a fireworks view balcony room. The room was nice with 2 balconies. One, however, was obscured by trees. The fireworks view was not worth the premium paid. Also, our room was almost a five minute walk from the elevators. Not too bad first thing in the morning but real tough after a day at WDW with the grandkids. Overall a very nice resort but because of the layout it necessitates lots of walking. We enjoyed our stay , but like everything Disney, prices are extremely high.
