The hotel accepts and stores packages for guests prior to arrival and during their stay for a fee of $5.00 per package which will be applied to your bill. Packages will be held for a maximum of 30 days from the day they are delivered. Please do not plan to have your packages delivered more than 21 days in advance of your arrival at the hotel. To simplify the delivery of packages, the name of the addressee MUST match the name on the reservation. Packages without guest names will be returned after 14 days. Packages will only be given to the person whose name is written on the mailing label and we may require a photo ID to verify your identity. We are not responsible for lost/undelivered packages or packages that were damaged in transit.

Due to limited storage space and safety regulations, the Ramada Gateway Hotel cannot accept packages that:

  • Weigh more than 100 pounds.

Staff is nice. Kids liked the pool. Shuttle was inconvenient in that it didn't go until 3 hours after park opening. Beds were extremely uncomfortable. Housekeeping left my door open one day after they left the room while we were away for the day. Air conditioning is weak. Housekeeping adjusted it while we were out one day. Water pressure was lacking. Water smells of sulfur. Concierge was misleading. Found out he was acting in his own self interest and not ours. Will not return.

We were here for 3 days to visit Disney World. The staff were super helpful. The shuttle bus back and forth to Disney world were super great,, instead of driving. The tower rooms were much nicer than the ones on the bottom. It was a good visit, and we were happy with everything.

This hotel was below average. The room looked dirty. One of the pillows appeared to have dried blood on it, and the water smelled like sulfur. The only perk was that it was located near Disney and Universal and offered complimentary shuttle service. I would not stay here again, as I'm sure there are numerous hotels that are nicer and offer the same perks.

I really did not want to have to write this review but after the craziest experience at a hotel ever and still no adequate resolution after speaking to everyone at this hotel that I could I am left without any other options and must alert fellow travellers as I would want to be alerted.

 We booked an 11 night stay at the Ramada. Check in for us (and everyone else in line) was absolutely ridiculous for some reason. The woman at the front desk (we would later learn is named Kelly and is a shift supervisor) was totally incompetent and was rude to everyone in line although none of us could figure out why (we’re all at Disney trying to start out magical vacations). It was actually making us laugh what an awful mood she was in and that someone at front desk could act like this (like speaking to you was doing you a favour). Then when it was our turn it took her a good 35 minutes to check us in (which merely involved looking up our reservation and making a key and telling us our room) but we waited patiently and didn’t let one bad egg ruin things for us and we went on with our trip.

 The next day, we woke up at midnight to use the bathroom and upon stepping out of our bed found the room was FLOODED with 4 inches of water. Quite a way to wake up out of a dead sleep after a 29 hour drive from Canada……. It turns out that the connector to the toilet had split and toilet water was POURING OUT at a crazy rate. It flooded our room, went under the adjoining door which had an inch space and flooded the rooms beside us, it flooded the hall and the rooms across from us. The toilet water WAS POURING out like mad. My husband tried to stop it. I called front desk. We threw our own towels down to help which didn’t even make a dent in it. We waited 15 minutes as my husband frantically tried to stop the water after being woken up to this from a dead sleep after driving more than a day straight for someone to come help. Nobody came. I went down to the lobby to get help and they assured someone was on the way so I went back up to the flood to help. Another 15 minutes passed nobody came. In that time I went down 3 more times to get help. Finally a nice front desk guy handed me about 8 towels to at least do something. The flooding is still happening without ONE person from the hotel coming to take a look or help. My husband (who needs a hip replacement in 3 weeks) is doing his best to help waiting for help. It was like some kind of National Lampoons Vacation scene but not funny when it is you. The mini fridge was right by the bathroom and he was worried about being electrocuted. I went down to the front again asked the men at the front desk to get a manager NOW. There is no manager on property from 10pm to 9am as it turns out so he went for the shift supervisor. You could tell he was very frustrated that she wouldn’t just come help but he was powerless to make her. He went to the back office for 5 minutes to go and get her. I exclaimed loudly that “this is RIDICULOUS and someone needs to come take a look. That it is a real major flood and not a joke and why did I have to beg for help SIX times and not one person had come.” Instead of helping the shift supervisor Kelly finally waddled out of her office and told me that she would call security if I didn’t settle down. WHAT?!? Call security?!?! I told her she had to come up NOW and she said she would. I went back up to help my hubby. 10 minutes later Kelly had still not come. What the heck?!?! I went down and was very angry at this stage. I asked her what her problem was and why they were doing NOTHING. She did a super long drawn out and dramatic sigh and she said it was FINE and someone would be there. I FINALLY got her to come up. 

I said do you see how crazy this flooding is and she told me to calm down. She then just stared at it all and did nothing at all. Two families (travelling together from the UK with kids with severe special needs) were assigned rooms that were flooded. They got up to find flooded rooms. Since the hotel was overbooked as it happens they had no where to go and were left to stand and wait. They were quite upset as nobody would help them either. Kelly also left them in the hall without any solution and they were quite upset (this was just before 1 am). I started taking some photos and she told me that I had no right to take photos (WHAT?!?!) and that if I didn’t stop she would. All the police. Seriously. I knew that wasn’t true and took the photos I wanted. At this stage a man in regular clothes we assumed was another guest knocked on the door and asked if the flooded came our room and we said yes but that we we couldn’t chat (our room was still flooding) and to please go and talk to front desk and then I turned to deal with Kelly who had FINALLY come up and was standing uselessly. That man it turns out was maintenance and he didn’t have time to put on a uniform and never thought to identify himself to us so how were we to even know. He said that since I was rude to him (and by rude I mean me saying I don’t have time to chat and to please also complain to the front desk for help as my room FLOODED even more) and that he now wasn’t going to help us unless we left to the front desk….WHAT?!?!? I am going to leave my room and all my stuff and be treated like that after all this?!?! I said I am staying with my stuff and he left and refused to help. The maid had dropped off a bag of towels in the hall and my hubby and I got to work trying to save our stuff on our own. We soaked out about 150 towels worth of water. It was crazy. It took about 4 hours. They brought some dryers for the hall and we took one of them and put it in our room. Seriously. We asked for a new room but there were none and we were told we’d have to stay in the flooded room or be refunded and go elsewhere (there were no affordable other rooms in town). You can imagine how much sleep we got. So we had to wait until 9am to speak to a manager. 9am came and went and they were “busy”. So at 11am we finally got to speak to someone. She was nice and a lot more competent but it was crazy we had to track her down and INSIST to meet her after the night we had had. Kelly had made up so many lies it was ridiculous including that she offered us a new room but we refused (what sense does that make and we have the gentleman at front desk to back us up). She had accused me of being belligerent but I don’t swear and the whole thing was on video so that was found out to also be a lie. This manager got the maintenance manager Edwin who was the nicest person you ever met. He was the ONLY person who works here o get how insane this whole thing was. He got our clothes which were all flooded with toilet water washed for us and he lifted up the carpets in rooms and got it dried as best he could. He also convinced management to credit us for two night free stay instead of the one they wanted to. I appreciate that but after all we went through and how it has impacted our trip it isn’t enough. I lost $85 in MAC makeup (see pictures), my sewing machine was ruined, our 2 electric toothbrushes were ruined and then small stuff like 2 boxes of bandaids were destroyed and the room credit doesn’t even cover this. We have asked 2 different days if the Ramada or their insurance can cover our damaged items but are told the room credit is all they will do. It just seems so insane. Our room smells, the (7th floor) hall smells and I am paying the full price per night for the “privilege”. Sure I can get a refund but can you imagine the last minute rates here during Spring Break?!?! Every time we see Kelly she scrolls at us, clearly she wasn’t properly reprimanded for who she handled things and will just go on to do the same thing to the next person if given the chance. It just feels wrong.

I didn’t jump to write this review, I thought surely someone would make it right but no. I waited many days. We just went down again to ask to be compensated for our items that were destroyed (thank goodness my laptop, ipad and camera are OK), you can SEE how broken the other stuff obviously is and they just do not care. At all. They seem bothered by us asking in fact.

I’d better not get one of those fake response to this that someone is sorry for my experience , blah blah blah because other than Edwin in maintenance it is just a total lie. I have talked to everyone here at least once and nobody cares. If someone at the Ramada sees this and wants to make things right we are here for FOUR more nights so they can come upstairs and do just that otherwise it is pure BS. If they do I will gladly update accordingly but I already mentioned I would be leaving a review to let people know and they told me to go ahead. How many vacations do you get every year? Do you want to waste one here?? We aren’t even upset about the flood we are upset about the total mishandling it and of us being out of pocket for something that was not our fault. How hard is it to file an insurance claim and do the right thing or just to do the right thing?? I am out $200 for my sewing machine which was on the floor of the closet and was destroyed, $85 for my MAC makeup (check out the photo of how I found my bathroom case), $120 for the toothbrushes and $20 for bathroom supplies.

The entire hotel. Worst motel ever. It is in need of serious & major updates. The air conditioning did not work. Barely any hot water. Dirty & nasty. I was afraid to sleep in the bed. If we had any other choice we would have changed hotels. It was close to Disney which is why we choose motel. They advertised a shuttle to the Disney Parks but it ran too Epcot 2 times a day & earliest was 9:20. Didn’t deliver to all the parks so we used their shuttle once & it took 1 1/2 hrs to get from Epcot to Magic Kingdom so 1/2 of our day was wasted. After that we used Uber & Lyft. Please reconsider before you stay here. For a Ramada I was shocked & Disappointed!

Every time we come to Orlando, we stay at this Ramada. It is always clean, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Never worry about security because they have a guard at the parking entrance to make sure only guest come in. They have never disappointed me.
