Very friendly people. Jim is the man! This resort is small so there is not much walking, since you will get enough of that in the park! Very clean room. All the food was very good especially there play on the steak sub ! Also Julia in the main food court area is a doll. Great service and very clean. Can’t thank them enough for the great time!

My review of POFQ! LOVE IT!!! Absolutely LOVE it! We are huge deluxe resort goers! Like all the time. But this.....wow! We were in building 5. Right by the pool. Right by restaurant and main lobby, which is super close to transportation. Literally a 2 minute walk, easy! Maybe even 1 minute. People were so friendly! Food was super good. Lots of good options. NOLA food options were yummy and didn’t disappoint one bit. The room was nice. Love the new flooring and the pocket door to bathroom. Bedding was great and I’m picky. I slept so good the last 3 nights and better than I do at home. (Yes, some of that was from exhaustion, I know) But the bed was comfy and the pillows were divine! I would not hesitate to send anyone here unless they want a little larger room and more restaurants. Nice that it’s on the river to Disney Springs and can be there in no time. We saw lots of Christmas decorations, and this place had the best decorated trees by far. Something about the purple and bright lights and flowers were just beautiful.

We stayed at French Quarter for 5 nights the second week of December. We enjoy the moderate resorts and had previously stayed at Riverside, so we opted to give French Quarter a try this time. We loved it! The resort is small and everything is within a 5 minute walk, which was a relief as when we were at Riverside it was a good 10-15+ minute walk everywhere. The rooms are nicely renovated with faux hardwood flooring, the beds lofted off the ground, and a huge mounted flat screen TV. We had really low water pressure and luke warm water our first morning; we informed the front desk as we headed out to the parks for the day and when we returned that afternoon we had strong water pressure and hot water, so we were very happy that was taken care of promptly! There is only 1 bus stop for the resort and it's great to see the ETAs on the MDE app so you don't have to rush to the stop. Animal Kingdom shares with Riverside; we did not know this, and our first morning the bus trip took over 30 minutes which was quite annoying. The one other time the bus was shared with Riverside was an early evening bus to Hollywood Studios, we also did not expect this, so again a longer bus ride. Luckily, if they are shared leaving the parks, FQ is always the first stop. We used Lyft a couple of times when we wanted to get to the parks much faster and not waste any time. The food options in the dining hall got old after a couple of days. Breakfast was good but for lunch/dinner or a late night snack when returning from the parks, we were looking for much more of a variety. They were accommodating though, so ask for what you want even if you don't see it exactly on the menu, for example we asked for just a side of mac n cheese, although it wasn't listed, and they gave us one. We were definitely wanting more fruit/veggies/healthy options, wish there were more of those all around. Our one complaint would unfortunately be with Magical Express. We flew into Orlando at 11am on a Saturday. We had never encountered a line at the ME desk at MCO before, but it was mobbed there and it was close to an hour wait from the time we got in line for the desk, got in our queue for the bus, and then boarded the bus. Many people were leaving the line to get a Lyft or Uber, because the lines were hardly moving. The ME frustrations continued at French Quarter - we checked in, ate lunch, went to the Disney Outlet store off property, then shopping at Disney Springs and took the water taxi back to FQ thinking all of that would give our bags plenty of time to arrive to our room. We were approaching hour 6 since we had landed and we still didn't have our bags. I pressed "Luggage" on our in-room phone and they said they had just put them on a cart to bring to us. Another 20 minutes later, I spotted the cart with our suitcases on it and I went down and took them myself...6 hours after landing! All in all, that is the second time that we've had to wait extremely long - too long - delaying our evening plans, so we've concluded we won't use the ME luggage service for future trips. Overall we had a great stay at French Quarter and a great trip to WDW in December. French Quarter is a quiet little resort that we found to be our new favorite Moderate.

"Near perfect but a few (personal) caveats."

The French quarter fulfilled all of the "wants" I was looking for that lacked during my stay in Riverside a few years ago. With some exceptions (I will get to that). First of all check in was easy, although the lines can build up quickly so it wasn't a speedy process. The staff is enthusiastic and what I like to call "Disney Nice". That probably doesn't need an explanation but everyone met and exceeded my expectations overall. For anyone who hasn't done a lot of research yet I will say if your not looking to drown in "buckets of Disney" the French Quarter is toned down so much that you forget your even on a WDW vacation (for better or worse). The Disney logo on the soaps, as well as the shower curtain was the only reminder. There aren't even themed decorations in the room itself. To me it was a bit too drab, even if I didn't want something as intense as say The Art of Animation. I still would've liked something more around the room to tie in the magic of WDW. As far as the room itself it was spotless, the beds and pillows were comfy and there were small things like USB ports all over a nice moderate sized TV and a fridge hidden away in the oversized dresser. Not that those are rarity's in nicer hotels but the room was near perfect outside of it's decorating. Room access is from the outside which for me negates any requirement for a view. Keep that in mind if your worried about a prime location. I feel like most people don't hangout in their rooms during the day anyhow. But even if you do people will constantly be walking right in front of your window. The grounds themselves are kept perfect, whether it's the hedges, flower and trees. Or the side walks (they constantly clean them), playground or pool area. I didn't see one piece of trash anywhere or even a leaf for that matter. The grounds also have large walkways between the buildings that are well lit with old time lights. The entire place was pretty perfect upkeep wise. As far as the comparisons between Riverside and the French Quarter. It's impossible to review one and not bring up the other if you have stayed at both places. The French Quarter has some perks over Riverside if your trying to decide between the two. First of all it's MUCH smaller, I am not sure on the exact size difference but if I had to guess I would say it's only 1/3rd of the size (maybe more). Due to that it only has one bus stop out front (FQ guests get picked up first). It also has a smaller and less crowded food court and very close access to the boat for Disney Springs. Overall if your looking to do less walking and waiting it's a clear winner. The only few negatives it has to RS is the lack of children's activities (campfire, fishing, movie nights) and only one pool. And although it's said often that guests can use the amenities at both RS is just too far to casually walk over from. And of course the theme intensity. RS offers special rooms and overall oozes a bit more Disney. I also liked Riversides main pool more being that it's nestled on an island. The food court was much less crowded and hectic than Riversides. We always found a place to sit and the food lines were short. Food wise it's "OK" but if your using the dining plan you can find some better quick service options around elsewhere. I would stay again although we like to try new places each visit. However the convenience of the buses and lack of extreme walking distances are going to be tough to beat. Side Note: At least right now FQ offers you to opt out of housekeeping. In doing so they will give you a gift certificate. We were given 50.00 bucks to skip out on it during the week. You are able to have them come out at anytime and change out your towels, trash etc. If you keep your room clean otherwise it might be worth it.

I really enjoyed my 2 night stay here at POFQ. Its a really pleasant and small resort (a benefit when you come back from a long day at the parks). The rooms are comfortable and a good size. We were in building 4 which was perfect for its proximity to the lobby, jacuzzi and bus stops. All the cast members we spoke to here were really friendly and helpful. Particularly baggage services who were great helping us on check out. We also had good experiences in Sassagoula Floatworks, with them making a special vegan meal for me. Nice cocktails in Scat Cats and at the pool bar. The resort is spotless and very pleasant to relax in. There is only one bus stop which is convenient but busy at peak times. They had multiple buses though when it was obvious there were too many people to fit on one bus. The only comment I would make is it would be nice if the hot tub was adults only. Some of the other Disney resorts have signs saying adults only. I know its Disney and obviously I expect lots of kids but its not too relaxing when there are kids jumping in the hot tub with you, plus im pretty sure its not recommended that children under a certain age do not use them
