"Great Stay"

My family went to Legoland and we were in love soon as we walked in the door . Everything was clean and set up nicely. The children enjoyed the peacocks walking around outside

"Nasty, roof leaked on bed, Moldy stink."
April, 2018
Nasty, Roof leaked on bed. AC didn't work. moved us to a new unit the next night. Cleaner but still nothing to cook with. NO washcloths. Paid extra for maid service but didn't happen until the last day after calling twice to complain then they didn't leave us any towels or washcloths. In the second room the shower leaks and get the hallway carpet wet. The only positive thing that I can say is that the Breakfast buffet was good.

Tip: Old, Nasty and run down. Find another place to stay. Shuttle to the park is a joke. Only makes 1 run a day. 10:30 am and return 10:30 pm for the magic kingdom. You have to call 24 hours in advance to even have a chance at a seat.

"Beware! Not as great as it looks in the photos."

I traveled to Orlando with 2 family members in May 2018 and stayed in a 1 bedroom unit. Let me start off by saying that this place needs major renovations. The minute you open the door, it looks like you traveled back in time. The pull out couch was dirty so we all had to sleep on the bed, the carpet was also dirty so we never walked barefoot. There were 3 roaches in our unit, 2 that were alive and 1 that was dead under the bathroom cabinet. I mentioned it to the front desk upon check-out and the woman simply said she'd mention it to management, but was so nonchalant about it, that it seems like this is a norm. I don't recommend anyone to stay here until this place is cleaned and fixed up.

"Lovely unit, fabulous staff"

We had a 6 night stay at Oak Plantation Resort. Cynthia checked us in - she was really friendly and really efficient. Courtney on the desk helped us several times - always friendly and helpful. Danny was also great - helping me get in when I couldn’t reach the card reader from the car!! We had a one-bedroom unit (102) which was perfect for us. Recently updated it was fresh and clean- loved the decor. It had a washer and dryer which was great for us. Kitchen had fridge/freezer, microwave, full size cooker, waste disposal. The only things for me that were missing were a skillet and pair of scissors - we didn’t eat out at night and cooked in so these would have been useful but in reality I’m not sure how many others would use them. We had 2 TV’s with endless choice of channels but they weren’t on much! The property has 2 pools, spa, breakfast room (chargeable) but has plenty of choice and coffee is good (strong!) plus a pool Tiki Bar which serves a selection of food and drinks. Roger, at the pool bar, was lovely - very friendly and chatty. The peacocks are pretty but sometimes a bit noisy but it’s baby season so explains it!! There are elements of the property that need some TLC but Sharon (who is so lovely) is embarking on a maintenance programme which started while we were there which, if our unit is anything to go by will be great. The property is close to several supermarkets and a small mall that has a few TKMaxx style stores and a food court. There is a complimentary shuttle to Universal, Sea World and EPCOT. What would have been perfect for us is if dinner was offered - simple stuff like steak, Salad, Chicken just so you don’t have to cook or go off property. All in all we had a wonderful time at the property and the staff have been great. I’m sure as the upgrade program continues there will be some lovely units where people will have great vacations. Thank you to everyone who made us feel very welcome.

"Definitely not a 3-star hotel."
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5

2-star at best. Everything is totally outdated. Tube tv's that didn't even work. There was a washer machine in our room that had no dials or buttons on it so even if we wanted to use it, we couldn't. There were ants all over the table where they kept the dishes placed. We booked for a room for 3 people. They gave us a room with a king size bed and a sofa pullout bed. The sofa bed was beyond uncomfortable. Definitely off the beaten path and not in a great/safe area of Orlando AT ALL. Would not recommend or stay here again.

"Country feel in a big city"

I loved the location of the resort, it was close to all the attractions in Kissimmee. We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa with full kitchen, 2 baths, & were very pleased with it. It was clean, & well stocked. It is an aging resort, but you can see that attempts are being made to fix that. Any issues we had with the room were very quickly addressed. The staff were all very helpful & friendly, & we loved seeing the ducks & peacocks. People should be told, though, on booking, that if you are booked into a second storey room, there is no elevator. Our room had a steep set of stairs, but once up, everything was on the same floor. It did make it a stressful for an adult who had mobility issues, & a toddler, who is facinated with stairs. Another couple said her 1 bedroom had a loft, so she had the set to get up to her place, & then another to the bedroom' We were also looking forward to a heated pool, esp. for the baby. That was not the case, neither pool was heated, & it was too cold to go into. Very disappointed about this, & again, we were not forewarned of any issues. The kids pool was also cold.

"Nothing’s changed in 8 years!"
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5

Recently returned to Oak Plantation after 8yrs. Unfortunately things have not changed, but have gotten worse! Bed sheets were worn so you could see through them, mattress pads badly worn. Kitchen cabinets are showing wear. Unit was relatively clean but no daily maid service. Washer/dryerwere functions. Pool area was maintained but the grounds were showing their age! Desk staff was courteous and helpful! Mile marker 5 off Rt 192 has lost a lot of It’s restaurants and good quality restaurants are not to be found or are closed! AC unit was not functioning properly as so many coats of paint on the louvre door prevented air circulation! Had to leave the door open in order to circulate air. Being one of the original owners;it was disappointing, to say the least! Our condo fees are high and this resort should be in better condition! Thankyou!
