"The trip that ended in disaster"

Let's start with the positives: - The road it's on isn't busy. Now let's move on to the negatives: - Lobby smells of cat urine. - They only had one (working) elevator. - Pool is gross, needs upkeep and the spa was less than body temperature. - Beds are AWFUL. No support. All springs. And the pillows are a JOKE. They're flat and about the size of a couch throw pillow. - Do you need a queen size bed? You won't find it anywhere in this hotel. It's double beds only. Want a king? That's an up charge and even then, they are only a little larger than a standard queen (where do they even get these odd sized mattresses??) - Sheets were stained with blood among other things. - They never restocked the toilet paper, even when it was obvious we were pretty much out. We always had to ask for more. - We constantly were having to tell them we needed 5 towels and even then, they would only give us three. - Black mold was growing in the bathroom and around the tub. - Parking lot lighting is a joke...which brings me to the next issue... - The majority of the cars got broken into in the middle of the night. No car was safe. The lady at the front desk even informed me that they had 79 cars broken into last month alone. This hotel has NO security or security cameras to speak of and people come and go as they please. No key card is required ANYWHERE. Given all the break-ins that obviously KEEP’d think the hotel would hire a night security guard. I guess customer safety isn’t high on their priority list. If I'm ever back in the Orlando area, I will NOT be using the Monumental Hotel Orlando for my stay.

"Great if you're on a budget!"

For a budget hotel (you can find prices for less than $60 a night!) near Disney World, this place is great! Here's why: 1) Prices: You just can't beat it if you're on a budget. You can find prices for less than $60 a night! 2) Environment: For being budget, I found it clean and in a peaceful part of town. It's a large hotel with a fun outdoor pool. 3) Rooms: They are very spacious. They are old, but I found them to be clean. If you're on a budget, I recommend this place!

Rented a king size bed room through Agoda. What a mistake from both of them. The room I was provided was not a king size bed room. I immediately broght this to the front desk's attention. They gave me keys to check out two other "king size" rooms. Those rooms do not have king bed either. Advised staff of such, but that is what they have I was told. Sent Agoda photos of the tape measure showing the bed was smaller than a king and still, because the hotel says the beds are king then the beds are king, Agoda will not honor its contract--Stay away of this deceitful business who clearly does not understand what customer service is or includes. There are no king size beds here--they are something a little larger than a queen. The room had decor short cuts taken on the inside, but the room was decent--but at this price it should have been better. The rooms are not small, but not much better if any better than hotels at almost half this price. The lobby has a large hallway where things such as meeting rooms can be rented--I'll guess 25' x 40'. Unfortunately, the hotel was not using the A/C so make those trips through the hallway quick. The hall way and lobby were tastefully decorated, which built up my expectations of the rooms (only to be shot down in flames). The stairways were dirty and blinds were broken so you cannot really see out them. There are enough elevators though. There is no close entrance to the lobby, though one is covered if it is raining. Apparently there was no free breakfast, and the paid one was priced on the high side and offerred nothing noteworthy. The pool was large as was the pool deck and had decor to make you feel special. This hotel is good for business meetings, but not for staying in the rooms.

"Going downhill, fast."
TripAdvisor user rating 1 out of 5
Reviewed July 30, 2018
My husband and I are Disney annual pass holders and used to stay at his property all the time. On our last few stays it has gone downhill...we gave it a final chance last weekend - HUGE mistake. The room was extremely hot - when we tried to open the window for a breeze the window popped out of place, the floors were disgusting and stained, the pillows on the bed were tiny and the bed was hard and uncomfortable. I had to call to request an iron - it took two phone calls and a visit to the front desk. (They never showed...) Will never stay here again. This used to be such a great place to stay on the cheap - hopefully they are remodeling or going to sell it soon. It's in a good location.

No complaints! Nice clean room, nice pool and hot tub. Friendly staff and decent location. A little dated but what more do you want in florida?? You're out all day so it's only a place to lay your head.
