"Overpriced, undermaintained"

At first glance this is a really nice hotel. The lobby looks elegant, the rooms are nicely furnished, the pool is great. However, a closer look is disappointing. While the bed was comfortable and clean, and the room didn't smell of cigarettes, animals, or harsh chemicals, the carpets were stained and the AC was very noisy. Customer service, while adequate, left me feeling as if I were in the way, amd the staff wished they could get on with running the hotel without dealing with pesky customers. Wifi didn't work reliably at all. I was able to log in only once, and couldn't maintain it. The breakfast was pricey and very mediocre - bland eggs, soggy toast, 2 small, limp bacon strips - no decaf coffee available. Location is great - a mile from Seaworld - but otherwise, don't bother.

"Feels Haunted. Weird Layout. Very Quiet and Restful."

This place is secluded. Almost nobody uses the pool area, which is beautiful. So, if you want some alone time, this is the place to be. Often you walk the halls and neither see nor hear anyone. So it feels a lot like living through a chapter from The Shining. It's got to be haunted, but the place is so large that the ghosts rarely find anyone? Either way, the place is quiet and a bit creepy. The facility is kept reasonably clean. Monumental is REALLY close to Sea World and Skeletons and the Sea Life Aquarium, etc. So this is a good destination if you are hitting Orlando's tourist traps. The hotel is definitely over-priced. No question. While the room we had was large, it was not sufficiently cleaned. There were stains scattered about THROUGHOUT the floor. I cleaned food from under my refrigerator area. Gross, but mostly crumbs, hairs, and some particles of God-knows-what. The bathroom was roomy as well, but the exhaust did not work and the shower fixture was old, rusted, and obviously purchased when George Bush was a youngster. That said, it worked. The Wi-Fi here is nonexistent. There was NEVER enough signal to load even a Google search page. We tried various phones, kindles, etc. Just terrible. But, it's free. LOL. So get ready to use data plans. This place is not bad. I've been to worse. I liked that it was quiet and the pool area was kept clean. You park pretty far from the main building. The check-in desk is NOT located near the entrance. NOT. You have to walk around and find the "front desk." So, try to figure out that weird layout. As ghostly as this place is, I am just glad they actually had check-in staffed by real people--not ghosts.

I really don't want to even review this hotel, because I don't want anyone to know about this gem in Orlando! I want it all to myself next time I'm in Orlando! What a fabulous hotel! The room was clean and spacious. The staff was very friendly and extremely accommodating. It was very quite, we only ran into a few other guests a handful of times throughout our stay, which was perfect for our peaceful getaway. The pool is huge and absolutely gorgeous! It was kept very clean, but being an outdoor pool you can't and shouldn't expect it to be spotless all the time, a few leaves and debris blow in occasionally, but the water was sparkling! There are chairs and cabanas all around the pool for relaxation in the sun or shade. The hot tub is big enough to have several people at the same time and never feel crowded, although we only ran into other guests in the hot tub once. There are three flowing waterfalls in the hot tub that felt amazing on tired shoulders and backs! All along the back of the hotel is a covered porch with ceiling fans and many lounge areas with chairs, couches and rockers, There is a small restaurant for breakfast, it looked clean and inviting, but we had our breakfasts delivered to our room, first time for room service! Two large breakfasts for $15, not too shabby! The location is fantastic, just minutes from restaurants, shopping, Sea World, Disney Springs, but the hotel is set back from the major road enough that you don't hear the traffic from the pool. The staff made our stay extra enjoyable, they even helped us setup an in room couples massage! Parking is free, along with WiFi. The hotel is huge and very elegant, but we loved it for the quiet atmosphere and great location. Will definitely stay here next time we're in Orlando! (Which will hopefully be soon! So much to do and see like taking in the natural lazy river in Apopka, FL!)

This was our first stay at this hotel and we will be back again when we are in Orlando. If you are looking for a quiet hotel with a great pool and hot tub and want to be away from the hustle and noise this is your place. The hotel is VERY clean and beds are the best I have ever slept on in a hotel....super comfortable!
