"Great Stay"
November, 2017
This was my first time going to FL and I booked this hotel with my Disney ticket package. Pulling up to the hotel it seemed beautiful already! problem was I had a hard time trying to find my room because there was about 5 different buildings :( we walked into our room my wife, son, and I and we got a room with two beds. the sheets looked outdated but the beds were comfortable. We then decided to go swimming and the pool was super big and warm! Didn't know at night they also show a movie so we got to swim and watch a movie super great hotel!!

"Not a "Resort""
July, 2016
This MOTEL is not what it looks on the website. They have 5 stunning pools, ah one per building and not maintained. The pool water was hot and had lots of chlorine. My husband found a roach in the bathroom. My lil one has asthma and mildew is his number one trigger, and yes it was bad when in just a few hours he was sneezing and then thethe wheezing came. We had to checkout and check into a different hotel because my childs health was compromised. One of the hotel staff did say, that they have had mildew and bed bugs in the past. I would have to say a positive would be it's location and the various establishments near by. I purchased this as a package deal that included two parks.

Tip: Looks and smells like a motel on the side of the road. But, the front desk staff and restaurant buffet staff are friendly.

The rooms are average, clean. Could use an upgrade. They are worth $50 per night, not the $125 they say they normally get. The pool was very nice.

Tip: Their breakfast buffet for $7.95 per person. Go to Dennys for better food.

"Only stay here if you cant afford anything else!!"
June, 2016
HORRIBLE place inside. The outside is cute and the pool looks good. BUUUUT then you go inside. The instant you are there at check in they try to get you to buy more stuff lol and then when you get to your room it is just horrible. The inside of our bathroom was moldy looking and had a couple roaches. The "Cleaning" man thought that my money left on the counter was his "tip" he said because he took it! It took me 3days to get it back because he was always "busy" or not around. Just would not stay there again. Was not pleased at all. The hotels we stayed at on the way down for only $42 was nicer! (road trip from texas). Thankfully we didn't spend much time in the room since we were at Disney.

"Confusion"
June, 2016
I called ahead to see if we could use the shuttle to Disney the day we were staying the night. I was told ues no problem. I arrived and asked about the shuttle and eas told that I needed to be checked in to use the shuttle. She told me they had never done that. I told her what I was told over the phone and she handed me a blank room key and said it might work. I actually had no problem but it caused a great deal of anxiety. Room was ok but not worth the price.

"Not so great"

The place centrally locates in Kissimmee. Which means you’re close to all gift shops, and dining within walking distance and also close to the Disney parks. We picked this hotel due to its location to the Disney’s ESPN fields as we were there to see my nephews compete in soccer and were just 2 miles away. But the resort is far from a resort. It’s needs LOTS of attention!!!! We got there and it was a bit of a wait to check in which is a bit to be expected for a Friday night. The complex itself is pretty large. But when we got to our room that’s where you can notice the TLC it needs I included some pics of our room. Stained dirty carpets, found Cheetos under 1 of the beds, the bathroom ceiling above shower was peeling and chipping away. The cabinet where the fridge goes was broken and dirty looking. The beds were not comfortable at all. Holes in the wall in random places. For having to pay $11 a night additional for resort fee you certainly expect resort quality. Also visited 3-4 ice machines on different buildings and none of them were working. Ended up having to buy a bag of ice at the Walgreens near by. Certainly will not be spending another visit there till they upgrade.

This could be a nice place. The carpet needs to be taken out and re done the bathroom needs major help. Also they need to get real about what they call a resort fee. They have the nerve to say parking is in the resort fee.... Never have I been to a place this bad and charged for parking and wifi that does not work and a mini fridge that freezes all my food items. We stayed for almost 2 weeks and even tho the price was decent for the type of place this is, the so called resort fee made it NOT worth it. Out of 13 nights being there, they said they can only refund 3 nights of resort fee. This is ridiculous. Manager at front desk needs to be people friendly. If I didn't have to worry about resort fee we would stay there again, even tho it is dated. But because they want to get every penny out of you, we will not be returning.. so which one makes more money.. a non returning guest but they got their $11 a day resort fee or a guest who may have stayed there 7 or 8 times a year.!!

"Creaky old Main Gate, great for budgets, is almost OK"
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5
Reviewed February 08, 2018 NEW
The faded sign for Main Gate says it all really - the gate is creaky and old. The ‘resort’ is a collection of two story buildings with external stairways like a 1970s/80s ‘motel’ – ala Holiday Inn or Howard Johnsons. There are two central pools and the resort is situated on (as signs indicate) alligator and poisonous snake infested ‘reserve’ – keep to the paths, the signs warn. To be fair, this is standard Florida, but there seemed to be excessive signage – either the reflection of a real threat or advice to parents to keep kids on a short leash. There are positives. Its name reflects its proximity to Disney, I’d say about 15 minutes (max) in good traffic. Entry is and out is easy. The 192 Irlo-Bronson Highway, post-crash, is being developed, with Margaretville being built and new shops and restaurants springing up to compliments the usual chains – from McD and Dennys to Olive Tree and Longhorns. The staff are friendly and casual. The price is cheap, especially helpful for families on a budget and considering the cost of park entries. You have to be careful though; there is a ridiculous $11 a day mandatory ‘surcharge’ for amenities like pool access and WIFI. When we were there, it was too cold to swim and as we were in one of the farthest buildings from the centre, WIFI was not available. When I mentioned this to reception, they causally mentioned this was the case, but no refund on the $11 – it’s an ‘amenities package’ and I still could have used the pools. As we were there for one night I wasn’t going to have a knock down drag out fight over it. However, another guest ahead of me in the line was complaining about the same thing. The site she booked through did not mention the ‘surcharge’ and neither did one site through which I made the booking. I didn’t see evening meals menus or food for the on-site restaurant, but the breakfast buffet is typical – slightly below average in quality and range, but filling. The price does not reflect the quality – you’re paying for convenience. There is also an on-site Pizza Hut (woo hoo!) The room interiors are dated and tired. Two or three dark curly hairs in the obvious places, but reasonably clean. There was only one towel and for some reason I couldn’t find the correct number for reception on the 1980s phone – or the direct dial button wasn’t working. No matter - as we left for dinner, I popped into reception and more towels were on the bed when we returned. Check out was ok, but another person on reception helping would have useful. In short, this is a tired old remnant of the 70s and 80s. Not much has been done to modernise. Its size means it turns a profit, especially with hidden charges, but the owners are milking this old cash cow until is literally drops dead. But there are far worse places to stay and for larger families of four on a budget it’s perfectly acceptable. If you need more than one room, hire a villa, like at Windsor Hills even closer to Disney or other such estates. You’ll get far better accommodation for your family, without paying for non-existent WIFI.
