Tip: The conveniences of a hotel are lacking a bit at the beach retreat, but it was nothing that affected our trip in a negative way.

"It’sn’t a great stay"

We went to celebrate the birthday of my son, I ordered a cake and s’mores package, the pile it’sn’t work, the cake was so ugly and the Pool close from 12 to 4 pm. So we have to move to the another hotel and later return by car to our bungaloo. The Restaurant closed at 9:00pm so we have to search a site to dinner. A very annoying situation, and finally my son can’t blow the candles because the hotel think that is so dangerous and don’t let us turn it on with fire. ☹️

stayed two nights in late summer and loved this place. its not a luxury or fancy place to stay so if you looking for that, look elsewhere. if you are looking for an affordable, fun and perfectly themed lego experience, this is for you! 1. drive up check in - great idea! didn't have to get out of the car and attendant was super friendly and informative. very accommodating to even get us a specific color lego house that we wanted and happened to be available! also she gave my son his 1st visit button/pin right on the spot, which saved me a stop in the park! 2. parking was sorta close to our bungalow, which was good. it wasn't crowded at the resort at this time of the year so parking was never an issue. 3. bungalow was super cute and on the money in terms of theme from the outside to all the details inside! once you are inside it is on the smaller side BUT kids have their own separate space with bunk beds that helps. duplo legos to play with, copy of lego magazine and in the morning a copy of the lego newspaper - all cute details! everything was clean and lots of towels were provided. they do not clean the room daily but that isn't a big deal to us... especially since we were only there two nights anyway. 4. free buffet breakfast was better than I expected. pancakes and French toast sticks for kids. eggs were not good but the bacon and biscuits were great! lots of choices, lots of fresh fruit too. very clean and the staff was very attentive and helpful. there is a huge sandcastle lego building area where kids can get their lego building fix before or after breakfast too. there is also a small gift shop. 5. location - literally across the street from entrance to LEGOLAND behind a weird shopping plaza (with a grocery store) that had some stores but also looked somewhat abandoned in some spots. probably not easy to walk across to the park as you are crossing a main road... 6. went over to the LEGOLAND hotel for dinner on the first night and ended up hanging out in the lobby for a while. large play/building area for kids with organized activities. had the buffet dinner which was ok - nothing to rave about but no major complaints either. bar in the lobby and small gift shop too. notes - cannot comment on the following: we did not have lunch or dinner in the lighthouse restaurant. we did not use the shuttle to the park. we did not participate in the lighthouse lighting. all in all really loved staying here and all the lego details that are everywhere you look! would definitely stay again and would definitely recommend to friends/family.

This is a great getaway for families. Customer service is excellent; rooms are clean; food is pretty good. My only complaint are their hours. The pool closes from noon to 4 pm; the shuttle between beach resort and part stops at noon and resumes at 4:00. Therefore, if you wanted to come back from the park early to enjoy the pool —— you couldn’t. You couldn’t enjoy the pool until after 4:00. Ever try getting kids out of pool and ready for dinner? Other than that, we had a lovely time celebrating my grandson’s 6th birthday.

This is our second stay at the beach retreat. It’s been a year since we’ve been here and it still smells new in the room. It’s so clean. I mean really clean. I’ve read the reviews about housekeeping not coming everyday but we prefer that. The stay comes with free parking to Legoland and a breakfast buffet. It’s a solid buffet. And they have the best tater tots I’ve probably ever had in the history of ever. The rooms sleep five comfortably. We managed to squeeze in 6. Four kids on the triple bunk bed. The king size bed was soooooo comfortable. I’m not sure I can think of a time I’ve had a bed that comfy in a hotel. And we’ve stayed in some nice places. The pool is nice. It’s not over the top... but if you’re doing the park... you’re not at the pool much anyway. They have a bar and pretty good food at dinner. We had everything from steak to nachos and they were all good. Plus, kids eat free with an adult meal. There’s a small fridge in the rooms and no coffee maker. That was probably our only complaint. You might want to bring your own shampoo unless you don’t mind the most basic of stuff. We do that anyway. There are places for kids to play in the restaurant and each cove has a small playground. This is a great place to stay. Oh they also play all three LEGO movies on a constant loop.

Have stayed here a few times in the past so knew what their basic offerings were. However, just checked in and was told there is no housekeeping on Saturday?? The kids were excited to go the room to get the free legos they had gotten in the past. Much to the kids disappointment, they have now stopped giving these as well. Way to cheap out Legoland Beach Retreat! Don't bother with this place.
