"Nice Hotel - but missing some basics"
October, 2018
First of all - This hotel was sold out on every other website and direct, so a BIG thanks for Reserve Orlando. The good: friendly staff, cute themeing, good free breakfast, includes premium parking for the park. The bad: the pool closes in the middle of the day 12-4pm and no daily housekeeping service with minimum stays. We would stay again when we visit Legoland because the price was a good value.

Tip: good breakfast, pool closes midday, free premium parking for legoland.

Tip: The conveniences of a hotel are lacking a bit at the beach retreat, but it was nothing that affected our trip in a negative way.

"Wonderful place for kids"

Recently stayed at this location with my wife and my son and his family - three girls (1, 5, and 8). The bungalows are located across the road from the Legoland main entrance; you can walk, take your car (free parking at the park if you are a guest at the retreat), or take the shuttle. The bungalows were very clean and the surrounding area. to include a large outdoor pool, were clean and well maintained. They have Lego characters visit the restaurant during meal times and also have staff that conduct quiz games during the evening hours. My grandchildren loved the place and had a great time. The only negative comment(s) that I had for our stay was that the ceiling mounted room air conditioner leaked water all over the floor and the front door handle came off as we departed one of the rooms and couldn't get back in the room. We did notify the staff and they appeared within 10 minutes to fix the problems. Other then these glitches, it was a good stay.

"Too little for price"

So let me start by saying that the employees in the resort and at the park were excellent, however this review is for the beach retreat. We stayed here for a night after visiting the park. We have stayed at the hotel before and wanted to try out the new bungalows. We were not impressed for the price we paid. (1) looks are deceiving, they make it seem like you have an entire bungalow. You do not, you literally have half a bungalow and it is small. We are a family of 5 and we were crowded. (2) the landscaping around the bungalows not facing the lake needs some work. The price they charge a night i was expecting something really nice. The food was good and the birthday package they offer was amazing for the price. The welcome treasure hunt they have at the hotel is not offered at the beach retreat which was a huge thing for my boys.

"Great concept and resort for kids who love Lego"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5

My kids love Lego so they are naturally in love with this place. The pool is the best part with the giant floating Lego bricks. These bricks actually encouraged my child to swim more so it was a delightful surprise for me. There are sometimes contests to encourage cleaning up of the bricks at the end of the night which is great. The cabins are small. I initially thought each cabin was a room but it turns out to be two. The cabin is split down the middle so its two families per cabin. The porch area outside was nice for kicking back and eating and snacking. The shared playground in each cove was also a great idea for kids to mingle while parents could watch from their porch. The insides are all decorated with murals of Legos in action and the little "room" with the curtain and bunk/trundle bed for kids is a great idea. Everything could have been bigger though. The day we went to the park was extra crowded. We did not have to pay for parking because it was free for all Beach Retreat guest but the best way is probably to use the shuttle bus. After parking, it took almost 30 mins on the line to get inside. Again, based on conversations with other returning guests, that line was abnormally long that day. The rides and attractions are great but everything was just too expensive. It cost $21 to get a "drivers license" for each child at the completion of the driving school ride. The license was not worth the money until they could use higher resolution images but it is good memorabilia nonetheless. Although expensive, we had a great time. Seeing Legos everywhere from rides, to the hotel cabin to the pool was an amazing experience.

"4th Birthday "

Super disappointed. We are staying here tonight for my sons 4th Birthday. We booked the birthday package and dinner was what I expected. However when the cake came out the staff asked if they needed to sing happy birthday... you shouldve seen the sad look on my sons face:( he has been looking forward to this for months. They brought the cake, yet no silverware or plates. I had to go get everything myself from the buffet bar, even though this is a served and plated dinner. We decided to be positive about everything and went out to watch the light show after dinner. The hotel schedule says they are doing a light house ceremony at 8:45 ...we sat and waited on the lawn until 9:05 with another family. The other mother and myself went in and inquired and staff seemed to have forgotten about it. At around 9:10 a staff member came out and said there were technical difficulties(just need to switch on a light?!?!). So show was cancelled. Again birthday boy and his brother were bummed.
