It's one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at in my life... The front desk people r rude, never smile, n should b working @ McDonald's or Dunkin' Donuts. The hotel is old n lacks TLC, do itself a favor n stay down the block at a holiday inn express. Food was HORRIBLE, very greasy n the staff didn't know what the hell they were doing. They cleaned my room n failed to giv m towels , so h can only imagine trying to come back from the park n NO TOWELS, n having to wait an hr for them. The AC in the rooms can't be adjusted, SO U EITHER FREEZE IR SWEAT ALL NIGHT, n get sick like I did... Hotel elevator is a joke, smells like curry, n if u want to be in a SAUNA, try their luxury elevator

"Add a few stars if you still smoke"
TripAdvisor user rating 1 out of 5

This hotel is a smokers paradise. Unfortunately where my room was located on third floor overlooking the pool, the walkway expands and two tables are placed there. The people a few doors down used that as their front porch even though it's directly in front of my room. They where there from 6 am till well after 11 pm smoking away. I asked for a room change but they said they were sold out. We dealt with it for two days then left. Emailed the GM numerous times with no response. In addition the restaurant could not handle the crowds and ran out of basic breakfast items for two days. Over an hour and half for breakfast each day. And finally they never cleaned our room. We were accused of having the do not disturb sign up which we didn't. Def will never go back.

"Internet too slow"

Pros: cheap, Village Inn next door. Cons: rooms either smell musty or perfumey, and Internet too slow to be useful. Unless you have cellular with a data plan, stay someplace else. I see 0.7 Mbps download, 1.55 upload.

"Wanted to like it but can't...roaches, poor service!!"

After reading the Trip Advisor reviews I wanted to like this hotel. It seemed to have a lot to offer as part of the Busch Gardens vacation plan (free breakfast, free shuttle to BG, onsite restaurant) for our first visit to Tampa but there was one issue after another. Hotel: You should know and accept what you're getting. This is an older hotel that's been renovated. We were okay with that but not the many issues. The decor in the rooms and lobby were nicely done. The onsite business center and information for area attractions are helpful. Keep in mind the rooms are no smoking but the walkway/balcony in front of the room doors are not, neither is the courtyard. We walked through smokers each day going to the lobby to catch the shuttle, to the pool, and to the restaurant. If you make it through the smoke. There's a nice pool with plenty towels available for guest. The front desk: Staff are friendly with the exception of the young lady working around 7pm on 7/17. She also wasn't informative. We didn't receive info on where or what time breakfast was served even though it was part of our package and didn't get our Busch Gardens preferred hotel lanyards until I asked someone else the next day. Others at the desk werevnice but were confused about standard things they should know like how to order room service with free breakfast coupons or if you could do so (restaurant manager, Cain, said we could). Rooms: We booked a suite with 2 queen beds, sleeper sofa, and kitchenette. The room was very spacious with plenty of room for our family of 5. Having a microwave and mini frig with lots of counter space is nice. However, we stayed 4 days and found a roach in our room each day...3 dead, 1 alive!!! Having a room in the back (directly across from office on the walkway with the elevator) will ensure there's no noise from the pool but the view from the windows is unacceptable. Although I wanted to let some light in, the curtains stayed closed.. You get to look at trash, a poorly maintained tree area, and not so nice apartments. There was also at least an 1/2 in opening under the door as another reviewer mentioned. I'm surprised roaches are all we found. Oh wait! It wasn't! My 9 year old found a cigarette lighter in the mini frig! I have no clue as to why it was there. In addition, towels and comforters should be checked for stains and discarded. Onsite restaurant: Breakfast was free with the BG vaction package and pretty good but the morning management struggled. Restaurant staff should know their busy times and manage accordingly. The wait times were long and service fair. We also tried lunch and dinner and I only had 1 decent meal (siracha steak salad) even though reviews said the food was good. My husband did like his BBQ wings and kids liked the pizza. The burgers in this burger joint (the boss burger, the farm burger) were tasteless including the quesadilla burger. Honesty, Wendy's would have been better and cheeper...no lie! *There is a "kids eat free" option for 2 kids with the purchase of an adult meal. This is helpful to families if you are okay with the food. Service was also fair at lunch and dinner. There was conflict from shift to shift on how the "kids eat free " worked and wrong orders...several issues for us. Server Kayla was the exception. Everyone was friendly but she was the best! There were just too many problems to overlook and I didn't list them all. I addressed the roach issue with the guy on the desk around 11 am on 7/20. He apologized and offered a room change. However, changing rooms won't solve the many issues listed here and what was already experienced. I have already made note of other hotels in the area (i.e., a new Home2 Suites by Marriott is being built nearby, etc) for future visits. We won't be back!!!!
