Have previously visited Nashville and Dallas for Christmas, and found them to be way ahead of the Kissimmee property. Outside was lit up very nicely, but inside was very dark and hard to get around. The Cirque show was very nice as was the ICE attraction. This year the ICE attraction was done around The Christmas Story movie. The ice sculptures were very good. Move fast, the room is a constant 9 degrees, and even with the coats they furnish it get quite cold. We chose to eat elsewhere since the food prices were outrageous.....especially when you are no longer on an expense account!

"Worst Marriott consideration for elite member I have ever experienced."

Do not stay at this hotel. They treat Marriott Platinum Premier Elites with no consideration, concern or respect. In fact their treatment is actually insulting. This hotel is such a mess that they have David Walter, a loss prevention assistant manager dealing with customer issues & he is incapable of doing so. They told me they had no rooms with an atrium view available & yet while I’m standing there they have a sign saying atrium rooms & suites with atrium views available. When I asked about it I was told actually we do but we will charge you if you want one of those rooms we’ll charge you. I have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars with Marriott, have over 1.1 million points & am a Platinum Premier for life & they nickel & dime me like this. Going forward my stats will be with Hilton. I hope you think it was worth the cost of a room upgrade to lose someone who always stayed over 100 nights a year with you for good.

"Bad Service"
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5
Reviewed December 13, 2018 NEW
We visited with our family for a stay back in September and I was surprised at how poor the service was. We were not treated with the level of care that'd I'd anticipated anywhere on the property. To provide context, I am pregnant, so I desired to sit down a lot and just relax, without having to constantly follow-up with staff for things they are expected to do.... like deliver our luggage in a timely fashion. We must have called 5 times before our bags were brought up and we waited for over an hour. The grounds were nice, the alligator show was entertaining, the couches were comfy, but what literally pissed me off was the way we were treated in the pool area. Again, I am pregnant, and my mother-in-law went to pick up a salad for me. When she returned, my husband and I were sitting in the pool area and she attempted to hand my husband our 2 year old over the gate. He was screaming for the kid pool, since he could see it through the gate. Immediately, we were barked at by a staff in a blue shirt, in a very rude way saying our son had to enter through the entry gate. Had we known, we wouldn't have minded that, but we were shocked at how the staff barked at us. My mother in law handed me my salad in a bag, and I walked passed several families sitting by the pool with bags of Doritos, boxes of Cheez-its, Pringles, and all types of other outside food, to get my son from the entrance. At this point, I just wanted to return to my seat and enjoy my salad as I watched my son play in the water. Before I could make it to the gate, another staff comes barking across the pool area telling me I needed to hurry and exit with the bag of food in my hands (tall Black guy) since no outside food was allowed inside the gate. I informed him that there were several families eating all around the pool, but he just walked away and told me I had to leave. At this point, we all walked out of the pool area with my son screaming because he wanted to get in the water. There was no seating area near or surrounding the pool, so we had to go all the way back inside the hotel to sit down as I ate my salad. For all the money we spent at this hotel, I was hot, annoyed and pissed! Not to mention the drinks at the pool bar were gross. I had a virgin strawberry daiquiri and the grenadine tasted very cheap. Later that night, we tried to catch the football game at their bar and grill, and though it was busy, they were open seats. We stood there for 10 minutes, along with other families, confused as to why no one had approached us to be seated. Another guy waiting said, "this place is bad at service." At that point we were hesitant to even stay, but a waitress finally appeared. When the waitress finally walked up to welcome us, another waitress walked up, started talking to her, which interrupted our conversation of me telling her how many guests we had, and the waitress that was initially talking to me just walked away with the other waitress... she stopped talking to address the other waitress and walked away without saying anything to me. By the time she attempted to return, a waitress who seemed to be a supervisor intervened and seated us. This place has some serious customer service training issues. My family will not be back.

"ICE! & Gaylord Palms"

We went to see ICE and stayed at the property. I was a little disappointed in ICE this year, but still amazing if you have never been. Beautiful hotel and all the staff are super nice and friendly. VERY pricey in the restaurants so beware. Hickory Steak House steaks range from $50-80 ala-carte, but, they are delicious steaks. I had the french onion soup and wedge salad as I am not a big eater. My meal was delicious. The hotel is beautifully decorated for the holidays. Be sure to walk down Everglades Walk to see all the theme-decorated Christmas trees. My sister had a room overlooking the atrium. She opened up the doors and heard all the Christmas music and the light show from her balcony. We had a GREAT time with friends and family.

"Dissapointed this year - their ICE Exhibit"

Let me start with Gaylord Palms Convention Center. Very expensive to stay at but something you should do at least once. It’s like visiting Florida under glass. Takes between an hour and two hours to do it all. Go slow or you will miss all the hidden treasures. Close to 5 acres under glass so you don’t have to worry about the elements outside. Around Christmas is the time to go. Beautifully decorated with a Christmas show in the center atrium. However do make reservations to get a seat they are limited and go fast. ICE - A Christmas Story - after reseeing the movie and attending the play this season I was a little disappointed. However it is still worth seeing
