We stayed in the Cars section, my little boy loved getting his picture taken on all the Cars. The other sections were also very nice to walk thru. The room was very clean and housekeeping did a great job. The staff was friendly with a few exceptions in the food court and the pool area was great. The reason for only 3 stars is that the bus system was a BIG problem with waits from 45 minutes or more in the morning time, We missed a fast pass and were late for a tour we had scheduled which really angered me. We started using Lyft to get to the parks in the morning. They just seemed very unprepared daily for the amount of people using the system. Overall a good stay but probably will not stay here again because of the transportation issues.

Hotel Grounds: Flashy, Very Disney. The hotel ground is huge. The Nemo pool is eye catching. This is our second time in Art of Animation. Both times we stayed at the Little Mermaid Room. Because we were here before, the second time around we really felt the long walk, the long wait in the food court and the front desk area. The Nemo playground was amazing. Kids had a ton of fun in this pool and play area. The Little Mermaid and Cars Pools were closed the entire week that we were there. Possibly due to the colder weather in Orlando that month? Room: Decoration hits the spot. As Under the Sea as you can get. Very Little mermaid. They changed the beds to a more comfier kind. Back in 2013 the beds were rock hard. Room is pretty tight in general. You Open the door and you can touch the bed. Not enough closet space or luggage space for 2 people. No Microwave. Refillable Mug Dilemma: We mainly got the mugs for the purpose of getting fresh newly brewed coffee. Unfortunately, the coffee machine is always empty. They should man these machines on peak hours. People are paying big bucks for the refillable coffee mugs, they should always have the carafe full to the brim. If you are a coffee drinker like us, walking to the landscape of Flavour ( cafeteria ) is quite a hike. We usually get ready to go to the park, then get our coffee and drink it on the way to the park which is not convenient because the bus is always Jam packed, and you will then need to tow along your mug all day long in the park. If you are getting the family room, your best option is bringing along a coffee pressed and making your own coffee in the room. Not sure if they have a coffee maker, which will make life much much easier. Food Court: We stayed for 7 nights. They had the same menu for the entire week. Pretty disappointed with the food option. It gets pretty boring after your 2nd dinner or the same thing. The food court is too small for the crowed they serve. The line up to pay is always more than 10 mins wait. We got groceries delivered from garden grocers, fruits, milk, water, orange juice, snacks. We only ate breakfast in the cafeteria 1 morning because we wanted the kids to see the Mickey Pancake ( but they have character waffles instead ) that was fine with the kids. We spent over $40 for 2 kids meals, and 2 adult breakfast that is pretty small in serving size. We tried to order delivery outside, the problem with this is they dont allow delivery to the rooms. You have to walk all the way to the front desk to get your food order, not good if your in the Little Mermaid area. Bus Shuttle to the parks: Full to the door, all the time. The line up going back to the resort is always extra long. You have to way your option, renting a car will cost money, but then you don't have to do the walk from the hotel room to the bus, and walk again from the park to the bus stop at the park. The Art of Animation bus stop at the park is always! always the farthest from the gate. Multiple times we have to carry our toddler inside the bus, there is no room to seat. The bus is always packed with people almost 99% of the time. They need to add more shuttle bus to the park. Magical Express / AKA Mears Yellow Bus: We landed in Orlando International Saturday at 10 AM, we waited for about an hour for a magical express bus, only to be put into a ( MEARS Bus, Not a Mickey Mouse Bus ) Big disappointment for a family that spent a ton of $ to be in Disney. On our next trip to Disney, we will be staying in a none Disney Resort and get a car rental. This is because we are tired of waiting, waiting and waiting. We can save our patience for waiting to get on an epic ride at the park. On our 2nd week we stayed at Cabana Bay - although not as animated and colorful as Art of Animation, our experience is Day & Night. The Family Suite in Cabana Bay ( same price as the Little Mermaid Room ) is more than double the size. The walk is also less than half of the walk we did at art of animation.Read my full review of Cabana Bay. We felt very relaxed, and at home at Cabana Bay. All we felt was mainly exhaustion while we were at Art Of Animation. Art of Animation can be a great experience if you will put out the money to stay in the Nemo area, Lion King or Cars and consider renting a vehicle.

We just stayed five nights in a Little Mermaid room at Art of Animation. It was great! Everything was very clean and comfy. The shower walls looked like Ariel’s underwater grotto, and the actual shower was divine. The sheets were soft and the pillows were the best I’ve ever slept on. There were three of us, so we liked that there was a curtain to section off the area by the sink for changing. Gee, even the soap smelled great! There were plenty of outlets, a mini fridge, hair dryer, and even a small wall safe. Once in awhile we heard some footsteps, but no noise or voices, even though every room was taken. It all was colorful and cute. You knew you were enjoying a Disney themed room which kept the magic going. It was quite a hike from our room to where the buses pick you up, so we rented a car to save our tired feet. By staying on grounds, we saved the $20/day parking fee. They call this a value resort. Well, it was a great value and I would happily stay there again!

"Value Resort? Not really"

I stayed at the Art of Animation resort in a standard Little Mermaid room. I don’t feel that Art of Animation is as economical as the other resorts in the Value category and the quality of the room and the resort is about the same as the other Value Resorts. So if you are not getting one of the family suites then you can save some money by staying at the Pop Century or All-Star. The room and resort was clean and the standard room was the same size as the standard room in the Middle Class hotels that I stayed at (Port Orleans and Caribbean Beach). The pools were nicer at the Caribbean Beach and Port Orleans.

"Cars Family Suite"

I've stayed at all levels of Disney hotels, many times, throughout the past few decades. This is our second time staying at a the Cars suite because the first time was so fantastic. Big mistake. Our room is horrible. FILTHY. Even after speaking with housekeeping roday at 10am nothing changed. The room is just as dirty and moldy. Wall to wall carpet is ridulously stained. I feel like I'm in a cheap, old run down motel. My allergies are on overdrive--which means pets have been here too. Pics are posted. I hope Disney cleans up. On a side note, it took 4 hours and 50 minutes to get our luggage via Magical Express. Beware Disney gives themselves a 3 -5 window and they take 100% advange of it. . ?(Last time it took about an hour to get here.)
