Bus service sucks at this resort. I stayed here for about 2 weeks, and their were a handful of times when I had to wait close to an hour for a bus. Which was awful because it was either raining or super hot and standing in that for an hour is no fun. While waiting I noticed other hotels had busses coming every 5 to 10 minutes. It also took forever for our luggage to get to our room. We dropped our luggage off in the lobby to get it delivered to our room which we were told would take 45 minutes. 3 hours later we had to take a long walk back to the lobby to get our bags. We asked them if we could take a cart for our bags because we had a lot. And were told we had bring the cart back. Our room is about a 10minute walk to and from the lobby. Their we no apologies about our bags being late and we had to bring their cart back to them. I also wouldn't recommend this hotel if your not traveling with children. I understand Disney is a family oriented place but there were tantrums everywhere here. So if you want to avoided a few you shouldn't stay here. This resort is defiantly more family driven. For the resort being fairly new rooms were not as nice as I had hoped. Other than the luggage incident staffing was good. Food was good here, lobby smelled delicious, and rooms were decent. Our room was just far away from buses and the cafeteria. Cafeteria also get crazy during peak times so watch out. Probably not staying here again.
To be fair, this hotel is economical, beautifully decorated, and clean. Everything you would expect, minimally from Disney. But that is where the pros come to a screeching halt! Started my hotel with 4 pillows for two beds, 3 glasses, zero extra pillows, zero extra blankets, and 4 sets of towels. A small two room bedroom (1 bedroom and bathroom). Everything is cramped and you will feel on top of one another with only 3 occupants. The food court is mass produced long before you thought about what you were going to order. If you decide that you do not want the food as they have it prepared, like mayo on a steak sandwich, they will act put out that you want your food cooked to order. Then they will try and talk you out of the idea. Then they will really behave put out that you will not take it as they make it. The hotel has one bus stop and if you wind up in the Little Mermaid area of the hotel it can be a chore to haul your sleeping children that last bit from the bus to your room at the end of a long day in the park. Let's continue talking about the busses. On Sunday June 26, 2016 at the end of the day Hollywood Studios had over a 2.5 hour wait for a bus back to your hotel. NO OTHER HOTEL WAS EVEN CLOSE. When other busses are leaving for other Disney Hotels not even half full, we were still waiting for more busses for over an hour and a half. Although Disney cannot claim to predict with certainty when their guests might leave a park so that busses can be waiting during the day, Disney does know that the Magic Bands they got be their guests for free are a GPS Tracking Tool. This tool will give them a fairly good tool to know how many of their guests from any of the hotels are in their park. When it's closing time at the bar, Disney should know, that they don't care where you go, but you can't stay in the park. But their guests are going to need a way out. Why not provide the transportation in the number that satisfies the need? This is my third park in three days. It is also the first park that did not have any Disney members out making sure their guests had a way home. Maybe this last comment is not 100% on the hotel, but IMO it does go back to the hart of the hotel's busing issue.
We stayed on Ariel's Building and our room was decor as a mermaid, two full beds, fridge and a bathroom, although the room was very small it was fine for us 4. 7 minutes walking distance from Nemo's pool and food court- food was delicious, but a little pricey. they have plenty of activities during the day at the pool for kids and around 8:30 the played a movie outdoor- next to the memo's pool, for what I recommend to bring a blanket, sit and relax! Our experience was good-overall, nothing fancy, it was a getaway weekend so it perfect fit what we were looking for.
My son chose this hotel for his birthday trip to Disney. As a true Pixar fan, he loved the attention to detail and layers of Pixar devotion he found here. I thought it to be basically an expensive Econolodge. Bed hard as a rock; coffee etc not refilled for 2nd day; no towel svc at pool. Just not what I expect for > $300 a night for a family of 4. Great for the true Pixar fan, just not his mother.
