Wifi is just so-so here. Alittle disappointed on that. Tried to post photos online from daily events and hard to do with wifi just being so-so. Disney should do alittle better with the wifi service. The car section is nice and we could see firework from the car 3 building three floor( odd room number side) from one of the Disney parks. It is a very nice store and cool cafeteria style restaurant.

Having read numerous reviews of this resort, I'll be honest, I wasn't looking forward to it! How wrong could I have been. First of all, I was expecting a three day camel trek to our room. This is dependent on whether you have a car or not. Don't get me wrong, it is a small walk from reception to the Little Mermaid rooms. You go on a very scenic stroll from the Finding Nemo area (which is right at the back of the main reception building and home to Disney's largest resort pool), through the Lion King section and onto your destination (5mins tops). In fact, I actually enjoyed the stroll in the evening when visiting the food court at the main building. If this seems like too much of a stretch and you have a car, there is a huge car park right next to each of the themed areas where you can pull right up to your building and roll into your room in a couple of minutes. Anyway, the rooms. The Little Mermaid section is made up of three buildings, Ariel, Triton and Ursula. This is the only area within the Art of Animation resort which is made up of rooms rather than family suites. We were in a twin room in the Ursula building. As with all Disney creations, the theming was excellent and very immersive. My girls thought it was, "the best hotel they had ever been to." It was not the best hotel I've ever been to, there is minimal storage (3 drawers and a hanging rail). No tea making facilities, although there was a small fridge and the wash basin area is separated from the bedroom by a curtain, but that's not the point. This is a resort to engage your kids. The room had lovely little details like an octopus coat hook and, instead of the obligatory hotel art, a large portrait of Prince Eric and his dog Max. This is one of Disney's budget resorts, but it is relatively new and I was very impressed with the cleanliness and daily housekeeping. The food court is unspectacular but entirely sufficient, if expensive. There are various activities like movies under the stars (open air pop-up cinema showing Disney movies) and several pool parties for the kids. You also get the added benefit of Magic Hours at the parks, the luxury of having any purchases made on Disney property being delivered back to your resort and free parking at the theme parks. Each pool area was extremely impressive. At Finding Nemo the big blue pool had underwater sound and an excellent playground! I'd say that the pool in the Cars area was probably suited to a younger age group than the others but was excellent because of its traffic cone cabanas. As with the others, the Little Mermaid pool was well themed and maybe a more manageable size for inexperienced swimmers. All the pools had lifeguards. As a bit of an added bonus, the resort is so close to the parks that we could enjoy the nightly fireworks at Hollywood Studios from our room! I'd highly recommend this as a base for a "Disney" holiday, however, it's maybe not in the most convenient area to explore the other parks Orlando has to offer (unless you don't mind driving). As we were only going Disney this year, I thought it was excellent and especially enjoyed the convenience of the Disney Magic band which is used as your door key, park ticket, photopass and credit card! It is essentially a resort for families with primary aged kids and younger and I wouldn't hesitate to book the Art of Animation again.

You know you're in a Disney resort. The resort is large but well configured. The public areas are spacious as is the eating area. The entire facility is clean, tidy and well kept in Disney fashion. There are several pools located near the many buildings. At the pools, the lifeguards stand (not sit) near the pool and constantly watch the children in the water. During the summer, the pools do get a bit crowded however. We stayed in the "Cars" building. Our three year old grandson loved it.

My self and my boyfriend selected the art of animation because it is one of the Disney 'Budget' hotels and we don't earn mega bucks so it was great for us. You wouldn't think it was a budget hotel, its AMAZING. We stayed during October as we wanted some autumn sunshine (we're from the UK) and also our favourite holiday is Halloween which is HUGE in the states, so that's a plus! When we arrived at the hotel, well what can I say. I was like a child on Christmas day! The lobby was great very bright and colourful with concept artwork from some of my favourite Disney movies on the walls. These are all themes of the hotel ( Cars, The Lion King, Finding Nemo and The Little Mermaid). We were greeted by a lovely cast member (Disney Employee) who joked around with us, asked where we had travelled from and if it was out first time (which it was so we were given 1st time badges). He then callled us poor unfortunate souls as we were staying in the Ursula building (which was funny). The Little Mermaid rooms are the cheapest rooms in this resort (sleeps up to 4). Our room was great top floor (2nd floor) and had a great view of the pond/lake that was between our resort and All Star resort. It was clean and well presented, with a welcome card as well. The room consisted of 2 double beds, tv, fridge, a sink and mirror area, the bathroom separate, free wifi (same in parks as well), phone and safe. The bathroom had a shower over the bath (shallow bath) with toilet. the room was all themed inside with shell mirrors, curtains and bed spreads. The rooms AC worked really well, also no need for a key with the magic band so anyone can get in who's magic band is registered to that room/booking. The grounds were kept clean and always looked presentable, grass is watered late at night so be careful if coming back late, got caught by the sprinklers a few times! The cast members would always say hello when you walked past. We had a problem with our booking on the first day as it wouldn't recognise us on the magic band system but the cast member at the reception helped sort that out with out a fuss and even got us an extra day put on our booking very helpful when you have a late flight home! We also had a problem with the safe, we rang reception and they sent someone straight up. Food is quick service and little pricey but you are at Disney so you can't expect less on price. There are 3 pools in this hotel all themed 1 little mermaid, 1 finding nemo (largest pool) and the other was Cars themed. The little Mermaid pool seemed the quietest pool with the Nemo pool always being busy. Great connections to & from the hotel & parks, nearest park was Hollywood Studios, also free when staying at Disney. Overall I would happily recommend this resort to anyone looking to stay at a Disney resort, who either has kids or doesn't and doesn't want to spend too much. Loved it so much looking at going back again October 2017!
