"Very cute and a wonderful experience......"

We stayed at the Art of Animation resort in May 2016. As a whole, the experience was wonderful and we would highly recommend this resort for families with children. We were at the Little Mermaid which was a bit of a hike from the main resort area with food, drinks, and the largest pool. However, it is beautifully landscaped with "characters" around every corner. We walked through the Lion King area everyday to get to the main area and the kids enjoyed seeing the Little Mermaid characters as well as the Lion King characters. The food was pretty good (they're serving thousands of meals a day) and the staff was amazing. My grandson lost his $.99 hot wheels at the pool and the staff actually delivered it to his room when they found it! Who does that? Disney does! Our room was clean and large enough considering we weren't in it much. There are three pools with different themes and a laundry area at each one. I watched the lifeguards one day for no particular reason and they were constantly on the move on the edges scanning the pool and the bottom of the pool. I was very impressed. They showed movies out on the lawn at night with popcorn one night. We never waited long for the Disney transportation although the bus stop for Art of Animation is the furthest away from the exit at Magic Kingdom. I believe this is one of the more budget friendly resorts at Disney and I thought it was great - clean, cute, great staff, and good food! One funny warning though! One of the people with us ate breakfast on the patio one morning and when she turned her head to talk to someone, birds grabbed and flew off with her pancakes!

"Best Disney hotel by far"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5

My three year old son and I find this hotel to be IDEAL. 1) The staff is absolutely brilliant. Super friendly, patient, efficient. We were coming off a 9.5 hour flight and the porter Angel hauled all of our luggage for us and gave us great tips on what and see to do here at Disney. It was super hot that evening but he happily chatted on and carried our luggage no problem. My son has food allergies and the chef Brian patiently talked me through all of our dining options. (The food here is excellent. My favourite was the salad, the mushroom at the salad bar is die-for.) The housekeeping manager herself came by to check on our room and ask about our stay. Lovely lady. The hotel manager Dave really goes out of his way to make sure that the resort is run to a high standard, and he's extremely accessible. Kudos to him for running and maintaining what is, in my opinion, the best Disney resort. My son needs a bit of extra help, and the staff as a whole are so accommodating. I shipped his medication straight to the hotel and the hotel delivered it to our room right away. While checking in, my son was fussing and the lady who checked us in was so quick and efficient, extremely understanding and friendly. 2) The resort is perfect for children. Most importantly, the public areas are extremely clean and safe. The lifeguards walk back and forth watching diligently. Loads of activities for the kids. It's about a ten minute walk from reception to my hotel room but there's so many character statues on the way, it makes the walk so great for the kiddies. 3) The lowdown - laundry is $6 for one load wash and dry. It's strategically located by the pool, so you can watch your kids and do laundry. - the clientele is mostly families so it's not a big deal if your child has a meltdown because someone else child is having a meltdown five tables away. - please get the Disney dining plan especially if you're a foodie. I'm mostly gluten free vegan and there were still plenty of options for me. - buses are pretty frequent. If ur going to magic kingdom, get in line at the crack of dawn. When I booked this hotel, I wasn't quite sure if it would be worth the money. After all, in today's economy, I found it hard to justify saving so much money and splurging on specifically this Disney hotel. However, I'm surprised they don't charge more per night. It really is the best out of all Disney hotels.

"May 2016 Cars Family Suite"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5

Outstanding resort. We stayed in a Family Suite in the Cars section, Building 3. Theming thought the resort and in the room was very detailed. Cars building 3 was just a short walk to the main building and the main pool. Wait times at the bus stops were not bad at all, though we had to stand on the bus approximately half of the time. The dining hall was usually very busy when we visited, but the food was decent and the cast members were very friendly. We went to the main pool one afternoon/evening, and I observed 4 life guards on duty and they were very active in performing their duties - with so many young children in the pool, it was nice to see the lifeguards were paying attention. Finally, I will say that our suite was extremely clean, as if we were the first ones to ever stay there - and I am pretty picky when it comes to hotel room cleanliness. I definitely recommend this resort to anyone interested in a value resort, and especially if you have younger children. Oh one minor negative - We had no cell service (AT&T and T-Mobile) in our room, but I had service elsewhere.

"'Mater and Lightnin' Land"

Good value for a nice hotel. In typical Disney style every item had a great theme to it. We stayed 4 adults and one (almost) 2 year old in a family suite in the Radiator Springs section. 2 yr old loved saying morning to Mater on the way out every morning. Suite had two bathrooms, one with shower and one with bath/shower, comfortable (or was it just that I was worn out from walking nine miles every day) pull out sofa bed in living area, decent size kitchen area stocked with plastic ware, another pull down bed at eating table which we never used and the queen bed in the bedroom. The main pool was nice but crowded enough that you could not hardly get a chaise lounge unless you got there early but we weren't there much because we were always in a park from opening to final fireworks anyway. The pool in Radiator springs was much less crowded. Good bus service to each park every time.

"Wonderful week at Disney"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5
Reviewed May 23, 2016 NEW

We stayed in the Little Mermaid room November 7-14. We had a great time. Loved the room and pool but they are very far away from food court. I was upset that we didn't have a coffee pot in room. When booking I was unaware of this. The pool at the little mermaid room is beautiful! My daughter loved swimming in it. The lifeguards are really good to. Very professional. My family enjoyed the food in the food court. We did a lot of character dining during our week stay in Disney but the meals we had in the food court were great. It kind of took us a while to figure out what was going with our meal plan but once we got the hang of it it was great. We would definitley stay in the art of animation but would stay in one of the family suites because they are closer than the little mermaid rooms.
