We stayed in the Finding Nemo suite because I wanted two bathrooms. To me, that made up for the price. Because the suites are near the front, we were only an elevator ride away from the pool and a building away from the shuttle busses. The pool was fun (with underwater music.) There is an arcade that is larger than others we've seen at other Disney resorts. For a "value resort," Art of Animation is the only one that shuttles directly to the parks. All of the other value resorts share shuttles and make multiple stops. The food is fine and cafeteria style. They're open until midnight. HOWEVER!!!!!! They offer pizza delivery but not unless you call FROM YOUR ROOM. So if you are at a Disney park and all of the restaurants close at 9:00 and you stay for extra magic hours, you will need to pick up something on your way back. We left animal kingdom at 11:30 (and hadn't eaten since lunch.) I called for a pizza while on our bus back to the hotel. They said they could only take our order from our room and that if we weren't there when they delivered, they'd not drop off the pizza and CHARGE DOUBLE. Then told me to "Have a magical evening." After my mini stroke, Art of Animation came in clutch and had their own magic hours and kept the cafeteria open until 12:30. Best pasta of my life. Gift shop staff was friendly and concierge was always helpful.

We booked through Disney. I picked this resort because we were traveling with a group of 6 and I didn't want to spend a my entire vacation budget on the hotel. Especially when we would be spending so little time in the room. I had a plan and I picked the parks for the days and I really thought we would be in the room as little as possible. Turned out my husband was in the hospital for a few days before we left, and we spent a little more time then I thought in the room. The resort was wonderful. We were in the Nemo suites, right in front of the big pool. We were on the 3rd floor. I read about how people could hear through the walls and the pools were crowded. I occasionally could hear people in the hallway(but children because disney), or a toilet flushing at 5 AM, (the one time I was awake and all was silent in our room) it was nothing that bothered me at all. The pool was crowded but fun! We had fun found our little space to play around and the kids absolutely loved it. We ended up skipping the fireworks after the first 2 days just to head back to the pool at the end of the day. This was also good because the last bus line was terrible. Speaking of the bus lines between parks. Art of animation was the farthest walk And usually had the longest line. For us, walking was what the doctor ordered so it was perfectly fine. I didn't get a chance to walk around the resort so I don't know how far away the other rooms were. We stayed in our Nemo section for our entire trip. Next time I would spend a couple days at the resort to hang out and explore a little because they seemed to have a lot of cool things going on. We ordered groceries for snacks in the room. Our mini fridge wasn't working when we got there... they promptly replaced it and left the 1st one which at first was annoying but it ended up eventually working so we had 2 fridges which was great. I ordered a lot of beverages from garden grocer for the room and 2 fridges kept everything COLD. The groceries were accepted and delivered to our room with our luggage. And our luggage was picked up from the airport for us. On check out they checked our bags there. Then they said there was a Baggage fee which my husband was about to pay but I questioned it and they waived it. I do believe we had already paid for it but it was $25 per bag and after looking at my credit card bill in line I was honestly questioning any additional expense. Holy wow it adds up when your just swiping a magic band. The beds weren't amazing but at the end of the day after the heat and walking in the parks, I could have slept standing up. We like pillows and covers and they brought up how ever many we requested so we were all comfortable. My sister and niece slept on the pull out bed, and it was extremely firm. My kids slept on the Murphy bed and I honestly think this was the most comfortable bed in the room. Mousekeeping was so pleasant. They moved the kids stuffed animals around and had them doing fun things while we were away. Like playing uno, watching TV, taking a nap. We ordered special things for the kids first trip to Disney, these were waiting when we got back on our first day. And the kids LOVED them. My daughter wants to live at Disney. And honestly, I do too. It was such a special, fun, exhausting vacation. But Exhausting because that we didn't have time to try everything. We only went for a week. I think next time I would do 10 or 12 days to mix in some relaxing days. I really have to say that everything was just more than I ever imagined. Everything with the hotel was stress free, which was perfect because we really needed stress free.

I have stayed at several Disney resorts at every level (including Grand Floridian, arguably Disney's premier resort property) and the Art of Animation is still my favorite! It's also the newest resort. We stayed three nights (two adults) in a Little Mermaid room and our request for a king bed, lake view room in building 7 was honored so we had a beautiful view of the lake separating Pop Century from AoA. AoA is beautifully themed and the Big Blue pool cannot be beat by any other Disney hotel! We spent about half of each day at a park and the other half enjoying the resort. We ate at Landscape of Flavors three times while there and it offers varied food options from the typical burgers, chicken, pasta and pizza to more adventurous daily special dishes. Service was fast and organized, even when the area was crowded. We especially loved the breakfast sandwich and the character waffles! BBQ sandwich is also high-quality. We rented a car so were able to park close to the Little Mermaid buildings. But, we also walked back and forth from the pool and main hall several times and it never took us more than about 5 minutes (we do walk fast). Highly recommend this hotel - an excellent value!

"Not close to Magic Kingdom, but a paradise for kids"

Well, I will start with a couple of cons: it's not cheap, it's not close to Magic Kingdom Park. You will need a 20-25 minutes ride with a bus provided by the resort. Shuttle services are very efficient though. We booked at this resort at the end of July to give my son the gift of magic: we got the Lightning McQueen suite and believe me, for a kid who loved that movie, there's nothing better. Outside the entrance there's the whole cast from the movie, inside the rooms are all themed. The same for other areas of the resort (Lion King, Ariel, Nemo). 2 swimming pools (never went, we were always busy at the park), and a nice restaurant with international food... not bad the pizzas, the pastas and the breakfast. You'll need more that $1000 for a couple of nights in the suite. Don't forget to mention any birthdays during your stay: they will find a way to celebrate with you. Very nice the Arcade area, buses to Magic Kingdom every 15-20 minutes. Shuttle service to other theme parks and to downtown Disney (very beautiful place indeed).

Pricey, Staff that is fluent in english not very helpful. No room service....they advertise pizza delivery to room...called 2 times...after being on hold over 5 minutes i would give up. Rooms are not kept very clean. Free bus to all the parks. Gets a little cloudy they close the pools. I expected more from Disney!
