You just can't go wrong with Disney! Have stayed in their All-Star sports and all Star movies resorts before, so we thought we would try Art of Animation this time. We stayed in the finding Nemo part. We did walk around the grounds and found all of that to be very cool for the kids! The pool side view we had from our rooms was great, but some rooms were blocked by shrubs and trees. Pool was very well-kept and clean. Disney now uses an armband to get you into all rooms, parks, and for purchases. Loved the idea, but some sensors around our pool did not work, which was not a big deal since there were so many entrances into the pool area. We opted to have the meal plan which allowed us so many full meals for our stay and so many snacks for our stay. Even though not all meals or snacks cost the same, you still use up by number, not by value. Keep that in mind when getting snacks at the parks! A three dollar water has the same value as a $4.50 ice cream bar. All in all, our family really enjoyed staying here! Had a nice sized gift shop, a great variety of foods to eat, and our rooms were immaculate each day after the cleaning. Always going to be a few cosmetic imperfections when it's a family type resort, but I would definitely stay here again. Stay by the finding Nemo area since that has the biggest pool!

First let me say what others have said. This is great place for kids. When we checked in they lets us move rooms to a Nemo room from a cars room. The service during this was second to none. Professional and helpful. The whole staff was very good and accommodating. It is probably the best "Theme" resort. My larges compliant is with the lack of features that other hotels offer in the same price rate. No gym, hot tub, spa services and very limited food options. The last is the largest negative. The only food option at the property is almost uneatable. Worse then the park food which is far from good. It is boring and taste horrible. There is no other food options close so if you don't wish to go on small tour to get food then you stuck with a subpar Mc Donald's with more options. Outside of that this a good place of you want a really good theme experience with out all the real resort features and outstanding service. I enjoy those features so this resort is not really for me.

Just got back! A couple of comments. First of all, stay in the Finding Nemo suite. It is centrally located to pool, main building that houses the cafeteria and the bus pick-up site. This was called a "low end" Disney spot. Now, don't been mistaken, Disney's low end spots are better than other high end spots! The pool was lovely! Geared toward younger crowd, but my teenagers enjoyed themselves. They had poolside games and movie night. The cafeteria -- eh -- don't go there expecting any kind of gourmet meals. We stopped there in the morning for cereal and off to the park we went. We then went for snacks at end of day and brought back to room. The room was not huge, but well appointed. Two bathrooms!!!!, separate bedroom and a Murphy bed and pull out sofa in the outer room. When you go to Disney, you are NOT going there to sit in the room all day, so this was just fine. My only complain (and this is just a whiney one) was that when we got to the parks, we were always the furthest stop from the entrance to the park. That can be tiring at the end of the day, but we were also saving a lot of money staying there. Everyone who worked there was great! Had a great time.

From the 29th of June to the 9th of July we went to disney & stayed at their newest resort Art of Animation for the 1st time. We booked our whole trip ahead of time & chose this because all but 1 section of the resort rooms are suites and the price for the suite can't be beat. I would say this resort is for anyone of any age yes, but I think it is better for families with younger children, especially if you plan on spending a good amount of time in the pool area, which I'll get to later. The main lobby consists of regular lobby stuff but also the access to the cafeteria is through their & of course between the lobby and Cafe is a large gift shop. Once checked in, you leave that main lobby building and head to your room which is separate buildings that are only accessed through walking there, meaning you park a bit away and then walk a bunch of paths to get to the building your room would be in. Each building has a seperate theme. The themes are Finding Nemo, Cars, Lion King & The Little Mermaid. ONLY the little mermaid rooms are not suites, just a regular double bedroom. The rest are very large suites that accommodate 6 people sleeping comfortably, 2 per bed. We booked the Nemo Suite and you get a master bedroom with a full or queen sized bed with all the normal bedroom furniture + tv & your own large bathroom with a walkin glass shower that looks very upscale. That bedroom is seperate from the other parts of the suite. The living room & dining area are connected but still very big area, lots of room, no one will be cramping anyone's space for sure. The sofa folds out easily to a full bed and there's a dresser and TV and chairs with a kitchenette that has a microwave, sink, fridge & any utensils and dishware/cupware you may need. The dining area seats 4 people & turns into a pull down full sized bed from the wall above table. Also has 2 night stands on either side of table. Each bed in suite has its own alarm clock too. Be careful pulling down the table bed, definitely read instructions prior and do not let young ones, even tweens, do it. It is very very very heavy & the way you'd expect to pull something down like that is not the actual way to do it & it will snap back quickly without warning and definitely catch your fingers, if not worse. Plus there's another bathroom adjacent from table. The sink is separated outside the door/room that holds the 2nd bathroom which has the toliet & tub/shower combo. That toliet tub bathroom is very tight though. If giving a child a bath, you should leave the door open because it's difficult to maneuver the door to open behind you due to it being so close. You'll probably end up bumping yourself with the door... I highly recommend this resort & actually will be booking our next vacation to stay here too but to sort of warn you, the hallways to get to your room smells like pool/chlorine nonstop. My room never smelled that way just hallway & elevator and such. I enjoyed not having to walk through a main lobby constantly if I went somewhere. I felt like I had my own space and privacy. The grounds & rooms are immaculate. I love how each suite/building theme is carried out through the grounds. The cars buildings exterior looked like Radiator Springs from the movie & it had their own pool that was Cars themed too. I only went to/seen 2 pools at the resort, the cars and the Nemo one, don't know if the other resort themes have seperate pools each too. The Nemo pool everyone from the whole AOA resort would go there because it's huge and amazing. The Nemo pool is actually the biggest pool of ANY Disney property resort. It even has music you can hear under water. The pool is designed for families but mostly families with smaller children was at this resort/pool. The pool has a slope to enter with smaller kids, about ankle deep and the deepest part around 4 feet. There is a kiddy sprinkler Nemo themed of course & a little play area right next to the pool for the smaller ones 5 and under. The Cars pool is much much smaller in size, like a quarter of the Nemo pool but water height begins at 3 feet or a tiny bit more and goes to just about 5 feet. The Nemo pool is always very crowded & the cars is liner a ghost time but we had fun in the Cars pool because we had it all to ourselves practically. Just make sure kids can either swim or have appropriate swim gear for the Cars pool because of the water depth. Each building has quick access to designated smoking areas but they aren't really private areas. They're just a bench with an ashtray & its directly on paths that anyone can walk by & will because that's how you need to walk to get anyone throughout your resort. The room views are a hit or miss because they are more designed in a V shape so our room like many others had views of just another building but you can ask for a view of the pool. There is a pond or something out back that has a beautiful bridge that connects to Pop Century Resort & the other similar value resorts like that. Unlike POP Century & those other value resorts that to access your room, it is all outdoorsman the Art of Animation rooms are indoors which I like.

Molly did a terrific job setting me and my family up in this room. We stayed in Building 4 of the Nemo Building. We stayed in room 4824 this room was the best! Nice colors. We had a terrific water view of hour glass lake and it was the top floor (4th). We were close to elevator but not so close that noise was any problem. Also, close to the vending machine. The room was terrific. two huge bathroom, one with a tub and another a stand up shower. 1 queen bed, 2 full bed. My kids loved pulling the couch out to create the bed and pulling the table bed out. It had a little kitchen with sink, good size fridge and microwave. It had an digital thermostat which made the room nice and cool. Also, they do daily housekeeping which was nice. Just be aware that that Loretta the house made will come to your door and introduce herself to you which I though was unnecessary and bit of a privacy invasion. Overall, a really nice place to stay just be aware of the walk to the Landscape of flavors. We did leave a room tip of $11. See my review on landscape of flavors. The staff was nice and the laundry facility was good. Best of luck!
