"Kilimanjaro Club"

We have stayed club level at AKL at least a dozen times. Our experiences with the cast members in Kilimanjaro Club have been wonderful. Having stayed club level at three other resorts, the way non-club level guests can access club level is the same. If someone on the elevator uses a Magic Band for access, everyone else on the elevator can conceivably go there as well. The travel agent I use has visited all the resorts and club levels and deems Kilimanjaro Club to be the best.

The staff was friendly at the concierge and reception. We arrived at midnight because of delayed flights. The in room service was not available but Mara resturant was open. It actually is not a restaurant but we could atleast get some food. We stayed in Jambo house and woke up looking out onto water hole in african savannah setting. As the day passed by, animals started coming. The first day we spent in the hotel itself but that was the only day out of our 6 day stay. We spent a bit of time at the pool which was nice. It had a waterslide which was perfect size for my little one. She enjoyed it the most. If you are planning to be away at the parks, I would not recommend staying here. You are paying premium but are not there to enjoy the premises. They have shuttles going everywhere but we had to wait majority of the times. There doesnt seem to be a printed schedule or atleast we werent made aware about it if such a thing exists. The rooms are good size with big bathrooms. We went to Boma, Mara and Sanaa but will write different reviews for them. Overall a good stay. Would I stay there again? Probably not. Too expensive for what you get.

"Wonderful hotel, but hard bed"

We stayed here for 4 nights in a standard room, that had a view of the savanna. This was our second stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, and in many ways it surpassed our first (also wonderful) stay. The staff here are simply the best. Ever single person we interacted with was welcoming, friendly, and eager to be helpful. Some of our favorite moments of our whole WDW were interactions with the AKL cast members. This is a gorgeous and unique hotel. I loved the decor in both the public areas and in our hotel room. We learned about some of the thoughtful architecture from the cast members and it made me appreciate the lodge even more. We ate at all of the restaurants, and all were good and some of the best food we had on WDW. We tried Boma for dinner for the first time, and felt it wasn't as good a value as the other restaurants. The buffet was smaller than I expected and we preferred it for breakfast. We did the Wanyama Safari and got a behind the scenes look at the savanna. It was the highlight of our trip. We have so many photos of the animals from the safari and it was fun recognizing the giraffes by name when we later saw them from our hotel room. The only reason I can't give this hotel 5 stars is the beds in our room. The mattresses were extremely hard, with a thin egg crate pad on top. I have slept on the ground and been more comfortable. It was like sleeping on a carpeted floor--there's a little bit of softness over a hard concrete surface. Ultimately, the purpose of a hotel is to provide a comfortable place to sleep and we had four rough nights because of that terrible bed. We did call the front desk after the first night and they sent two blankets for us to drape over the bed for padding. This helped, but what would help more is getting higher quality beds to reflect the deluxe status of this hotel. We went on this trip considering becoming DVC owners, and decided against it based solely on the bed!

I love this place. We were upgraded as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and the lady was helpful at making our stay fabulous. There is plenty of places to visit in the hotel and people to help. The only minor thing is I'd say the staff could cheer up a bit. Hakuna matata!! There was the most lovely lady called Geeta in the souvenir shop. Well done to her she went over and beyond to help everyone. The buses are the slowest I've ever known. Horrendous. Do not leave any later than an hour to get somewhere. Very slow!! The rooms savanna view is magical and just breathe taking. Overall a lovely experience

My husband choose kidani village at the animal kingdom resort. I don't really fancy the decor. I really wanted a nice view so I can see the animals but instead we had a view of some trees and a parking lot. Not much food items to purchase in the market place..as we have a kitchen and like to cook sometimes. They don't have a quick service..that is like a 10 mins walk to Jamba house..seems like u pay more and get less accommodation..
