Who doesn't love animals? That being said, who doesn't like to see them free in the wild? We do. The safari is awesome & it's nice to see the animals roaming (safely) and take an adventure with the family. All the shows are awesome and well performed. The bone park is probably our favorite. Our boys LOVE running around there & we feel safe knowing it's an enclosed gate/manned by an employee...one exit, one entrance. There's also a neat digging pit across the way we actually missed several times before discovering on a visit several years after our first time!

My family of 4 stayed 5 nights at Jambo House from June 6th-10th. We had booked a standard view room but upon check in I asked for an upgrade and they met our request with an amazing Savannah view room on the Kudu Trail near the lobby. A family of giraffes resided next to our balcony as well as zebra and some other mini deer type animal and others. The room was clean and comfortable with a huge separate closet and 2 dressers. No microwave but mini fridge and coffeemaker. The resort is great with many activities for the kids. My girls participated in an evening African instrument parade and a young lady was so kind in painting their faces when we had missed the face painting time. The lobby here is simply stunning and Boma buffet is awesome. The pool is very nice and includes hot tubs and a nice playground. Laundry is conveniently located near the pool and is $3 to wash or dry. The quick service Mara is also near the pool and is small inside but offers good food, try the butternut squash soup. I have explored all of the Deluxe resorts with the exception of Fort Wilderness Lodge and would definitely choose this one over all the others again if staying Deluxe. It was not a far bus ride to the parks- furthest was 20 min and it does not get the foot traffic winding through it that other Deluxe resorts on the monorail get. You will not be disappointed if you stay here

We stayed here in June of 2016 and had a wonderful room with bunk beds and animal view. The hotel is clean, has great staff, great pool, etc. It is big, so you may have a walk to or from the lobby to leave or return. Like most on premise high end resorts it's a bit pricey but not entirely crazy. I would definitely return. Picture is from my room's balcony

"Meh with great view"

We finally had enough cash saved for a Disney trip & really wanted to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The room was smaller than we expected with a tiny bathroom. The refrigerator was nice but small. The beds were comfy, but the furniture was dusty. The food was totally overpriced at the Mara. The breakfast buffet at Boma was pricy but very good. Pool area was great. Sink height was too high for our kids (ages 8 & 10). The shower was tiny, but the water pressure was great.

This is our second stay. We have stayed in most of the resorts and this is one of our favorites. It is a little bit out of the way, but with the transportation, it is not a problem. The lobby is awesome. You can just sit there and relax anytime. There are two areas just off of the lobby (small library with a savannah view and fire pit area) where you can sit with a cocktail or book. Outside, past the lobby is a viewing area where you can see the animals. There are also several covered patios with rocking chairs for animal viewing. This trip, they upgraded our room. Rooms are clean and spacious. We had a very active savannah, which we enjoyed very much. Giraffes, oxen, gazelles, fowl, always out and entertaining. Restaurants are great here. Mara is open very late and is the best value in Disney in my opinion. It is a quick place to get a salad, flatbread pizza or pastry. You can eat there or take food to the pool or yr room. I highly recommend!
