Love the animals and all the kid friendly activities/theming at this resort. Restaurants were great. My favorite was the indoor fire pit. I think my kids favorite was the night vision goggles and the bunk beds. We usually go cheap when it comes to lodging but splurged this time and I'm glad we did. Definitely a place you should stay at least once while visiting Disney World.

We had a partial view room of the safari but could see all kinds of animals. There was a small balcony which was nice. My kids loved it! The room itself was basically a hotel room but fine for the little amount of time we were there. The lodge area was beautiful.

We have stayed at this resort multiple times over the years since it opened. There is a consistencey in the quality of the resort and the wonderful cast members who work there. The resort itself is beautiful! Upon walking into the lobby it is breathtaking! There are African artifacts throughout the property and little thematic and cultural touches and experiences are wonderful. Definitely upgrade to a savanah-view if possible. It's difficult to not spend every waking moment on your verandah watching the animals approach. The outdoor pool is great! The food court is easily accessible from the pool.. There is a tiki bar and plenty of hidden smaller areas to sit away from the activity in the pool. There is a water slide and kids activities at the pool and in the activity center like pool games, African jewelry making and cookie decorating. There are also cultural activities for which you earn a special unique bead for completing each one. The two main restaurants offer African food and wine tastings. Sanaa is our favorite restaurant offering African/Indian inspired food. The windows overlook the savannah and there often are animals right outside of the windows. A great tip is that there are showers in the restrooms adjacent to the pool so if you decide to use the pool after checking out it is possible to shower before your trip home.

Pros: * There are animals (giraffes, zebras, etc.) on the property. Kids love this. * Reception hall has the wow factor. * Staff are warm and friendly, from the front desk to the cleaners to everyone in the food service areas. I genuinely felt that they were happy to be there, and I do not always get this impression elsewhere. * Rooms are clean and comfortable. * Accommodation is decent value, given that this is a resort in the deluxe category and it is on Disney property. * Nice pool and hot tubs. Cons: * Buffet is expensive - $30/person for the breakfast buffet (decent) and $55/person for the dinner buffet (unremarkable). Non-buffet options are limited. I get that they want to push people to the meal plans, but the high a la carte prices leave a bad taste. * You will spend more time than you want on the Disney buses. In particular, evening waits can be long. Disney should seriously consider expanding its monorail system or developing an in-house Uber-type system.

Stayed 4 nights in January. This place is beautiful. Stayed in a two bedroom suite in kidani village. The savanna view is great. The full kitchen is very convenient. The rooms were very clean. Great front desk staff. Restaurants on property are all very good. The pool was great for adults and children. The hotel is farther away from other Disney parks but bus transportation was relatively quick and ran late enough to stay out for late dinners. The only drawback is the size of the property, it's huge. We had no issues but if anyone in your party has difficulty walking have a chair or stroller at the ready. We would definitely stay again.
