This is the budget Disney resort. That'll make you think that it'd be a standard hotel. It's actually quite sub-par.

The rooms were okay, but a 2 star hotel would be better furnished. The mini fridge was nice, but the room lacked a kettle, microwave, and coffee machine. You can get your coffee down at the cafeteria, but that's a 10 minute walk/6 minute jog away. When you're trying to get a family to an amusement park on time in the morning, this is very inconvenient.

The reception staff were great. They were friendly and set everything up for us quite well. Great experience on our first day. We watched the fireworks from our rooms that night, and we could also see them from one of the swimming pools. We asked for the shuttle timetables, since they offer free service to all Disney theme parks (great!) and to the airport (more on this in a bit), so that we could plan our days.

Things go downhill when you consider the concierge staff. We got a rental car from one of the places near the airport, knowing that the shuttle service would work well when we needed to return the car. We were planning to check out Universal Studios on day 1 and 2, and spend day 3 and 4 at Disney. Returning the car after day 2 was a nightmare; the staff told us that they would only let us get on the shuttle bus if we were checking out! Had to take a taxi back because of this, for about $70. On the day that we were checking out, we planned to be at the airport about 3 hours early. 4 hours before the shuttle to the airport was to leave, we went down and asked when we should board. This time we were told that we wouldn't be allowed on board because we had to preregister. Nowhere was this stated, nor were we ever told. AND we weren't allowed to board a later shuttle (they run twice an hour) because they won't take you to the airport unless you're 4 hours early. After arguing, we gave up and had to take another taxi. Wallet blown for things we need not spend on.

I suppose you can get away with this stuff just cause you're Disney.

Some people seem to have had good experiences here. Good on them. I'm not coming back.

"Disney on a budget"
July, 2015
The rooms were good sized for two adults and two kids, esp since we weren't really in them much being at the parks most the time. The cleaning staffs attention to detail with using towel/kids blankets to create mickey and other things really was a nice touch, the children loved it. The only real complaint was no microwave. We had leftovers we would have liked to have reheated. Next time we know to get a suite, little bit bigger and has a mini kitchen area. The little food court/cafe area had many choices. We loved the mashed potatoes and gravy. Made a meal out of just those one night. Having the bus transportation to all parks was amazing. Not having to drive or pay for parking SO nice. Overall the hotel was enjoyable, made the first visit for my kids and father a good one. Would definitely stay again at this hotel on another visit

Tip: the walk from the buses/cars to the rooms is a little long might want to have packages bought at parks sent to your rooms to keep from having to carry them :-)

"Family vacation to DisneyWorld"

I thought this hotel was very suitable for our stay and for the cost. We had a family suite (4 adults and 2 kids) that provided enough room for us. It was nice having the kitchenette so we could order a few groceries from the Prime Now App. It had two pools(heated), although we only used the bigger one and the food/drink was acceptable. Not too many choices and pricey. We off set that with our own groceries though. Convenience was key! Using the magical express and buses to the parks was great. Very smooth operation. They also provided some activities at the resort. We went to a movie under the stars one night where they were showing Frozen and had cookies/hot chocolate and even snow machines! The game room was good to blow off some extra energy at night. Well worth it.

Stayed at All- Star Music Resort from Nov 2- 14 with my daughter. This is my 4th time in 8 years at this resort. Its has changed in the last 4 years. I was a little disappointed, changed some of there food menu so there wasnt as much to eat for us so we had to have the same food over and over for the 2 weeks. The staff in housekeeping wasn't as pleasant since we didnt get our room cleaned. And in the dining hall when we paid for our food, the cashiers really didnt know how to charge for kids meals or adults meals. They are use to mean plans so much so when someone doesnt get it they end up charging then either too much or give them free items. The staff who does activities near the pool with the kids all afternoon are great but has changed since 4 years ago. The place is still ok but needs a revamp in the room to get more people to come to it. The other new resorts are out beating it and making it hard for them to look good. I liked it but i may want to try some place else if they dont get an upgrade. But its good for a value resort.

Myself and husband stayed here a few weeks ago 15th November for 2 weeks! On a rival the lobby area looks so fab!! Such fun and had a lovely smell?? Not sure what it was! We were checked in by a young guy who was training ( sorry I forgot the name ) he was so lovely and he will be great working their! We walked down to our room. Block 8 on Broadway! We loved the theming of the outside!! It was such good fun to walk down and here the music too! The room was very nice smelt very clean and fresh! We were offered the $140 card to have no mousekeeping for the stay, but we declined. We like to have the room serviced everyday! We're on holiday! The only a couple of things with the room was there was no kettle or coffee making machine! We hadn't even thought about checking!!?? I like the lotions too but there were none!? Most of cast members we talked to were lovely and friendly! George at singing spirits pool bar was so friendly! We had a mix up with our hill in the 2nd week, that was dealt with by Nicky. Thank you, you were very patient with us and polite and professional!! It's just lovely to walk around at night and take in all the scenery!! And the sounds, the music! We it ate a couple of times in the Intermission food court. And had, of course, Mickey waffles!! Yum!! The staff on the tills were not the friendliest of cast members. But, they are their early and work a long day! We would definitely stay here again. But would take a travel kettle and a small coffee maker!!! Lol

- More than half an our to just Check in in the lobby - Rooms are far away from lobby and shuttle station - feels like a cheap motel - room quite old and Disney can only be noticed in few details - no fresh air in the room - houskeeping knocked and tryed to open the door several times at Around 8 a.m. Although Check-out was 11 and we told them that we will Need some time - no restaurant for dinner, only self-Service fast food foodcourt and inroom dining (which is much to expensive! For example 17.99+ Tax for a pizza (normal disney-price), but 3 Dollar for delivery + 18% Service? I can Unterstand why there are so many pizza boxes from Domino’s in the trash...)

"Try a Budget Alternative to Family Suites!"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5
Reviewed December 06, 2018 NEW
When we have stayed at the All Star Resorts in the past with 2 children, we have requested two standard rooms with a "connecting door". This worked out great and costs less than a Family Suite! We had the luxury of 2 bathrooms and 4 real beds (not fold-outs). The truth for us is that we spend most of the time in the parks and not much time at the hotel. So, big money for all of us to crowd into one room and one bath at a Moderate or Luxury resort just to have a themed water slide pool and an impressive lobby does not make much sense. Staying at the All Stars with two rooms is more comfortable. How does this compare to staying off-property? We have stayed in 2-bedroom condos at both of the Sheraton Vistanas. They were wonderful and had beautiful pool areas to rival any Disney Hotel. The cost per day was actually less than two rooms at the All Stars. Here's what we lost: 1) We could only book FastPasses 30 days in advance vs. 60 days if you are staying at a Disney property. This is very important to book the hot attractions. During busier parts of the year, all of the FastPasses for the hot attractions are already taken when you try only 30 days in advance. This can mean wasting a big part of your day waiting in line or not seeing that attraction at all. 2) We had to drive 15-20 minutes to the parks. This was not a big problem, since we had a car. In fact, it was actually quicker than the Disney bus system. It used to be that Disney resort hotel guests had the advantage of not paying for parking, and others paid $20/day for parking. Now Disney hotels are charging for parking, so that is no longer an advantage. What we gained: 1) A beautiful pool area. 2) A full kitchen. This was nice for breakfast, but we usually got Pizza Hut or fried chicken from Publix, anyway. 3) A real living room and bedroom privacy. Here's an idea: For the initial two days of your trip, stay at the All Stars and book the hot attraction FastPasses 60 days in advance in two parks. Then move to an off-property condo for the remainder of you trip. This would work especially well if you do Sea World, Discovery Cove, Gatorland or other local attractions on some days.
