"Outdated,but great location!"
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5

Ok first let me start by saying if you are looking for a great location and within budget hotel then this is a good place. However, the reason for my average/poor rating is the hotel rooms. They are outdated, old. The bathroom for example can barely fit two people. I always check travelers photos and reviews before I book any hotel, but unfortunately this time I was more focused on location and the pictures I looked at during the booking way different than what we saw! Next, is be very careful from the attractions info desk there. They will convince you to waste your time with a 3 hour time share presentation, at a location that is about a 20+ mins from the hotel, to receive some money for attending or get some discounts. I was told its going to be 1.5 hours but it took the whole morning. So unless you are really considering time share options don't waste your time. Also, we decided to take the shuttle to universal to save the parking fee but unfortunately the buses didn't show up on the way back and we were stuck in the hot weather outside for more than 30 mins and then decided to take uber instead. Not sure if it's directly the responsibility of the hotel for such service but such bad services, provided from within the hotel may impact people's decisions. To be fair the service overall was good and the check-in process was fast and easy. If it was not for the hotel rooms and the property in general I would pick this hotel for my next visit. Very close to universal parks 5 mins drive/shuttle, 20 mins away from Disney, 5 mins or less away from Orlando icon and close to many restaurants.

We stayed here for a couple of nights while my husband and oldest daughter went to Universal. My two youngest children and I stayed back and went to the pool. Everyone here was very friendly and helpful. If we are ever in Orlando again we would definitely stay here again.

"Got engaged here!"

I gave this hotel 5 stars because I’ve stayed here 3 times and have had a great time!! My future husband actually proposed to me in our hotel room lol! The shuttle to Universal is free, so that’s really nice, and there are lots of times to choose from. Just make sure you get the ticket the night before so it doesn’t fill up for the time you want. The room service is really good, we always ordered breakfast and pizzas from there! I’ll always come back!

This hotel was very nice and for a good price. The employees was very kind and friendly. The room was spacious and had a great view. It took about 20 minutes to walk to the Citywalk. The hotel also arranges for buses to a lot of the parks. Walgreens and restaurants are also close by.

"Great hotel for few days at Universal Studios Orlando"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5

Decided to book a stay at this Best Western for a trip to Universal Studios. It's a very easy 3 minute drive to the Universal parking lot (just go up universal Blvd). You want to be at the park for the opening at 9 AM? No problem with leaving the hotel at 8:50 AM! Its stress free to come back halfway through the day to clean up, and then go back to the park after. The hotel does offer a shuttle to the park but we did not use it (22 USD a day to park at Universal and you can leave & come back - free after 6 PM). This is a quiet hotel away from the craziness of International Blvd, but a very short drive away! Our room had a nice view of the front lake area. Parking is included in the resort fee - never had issues to find parking and was given a sheet to place in the window for proof of being a hotel guest. The bed was comfortable & room was clean. Of course this hotel is quite old, in need for a good renovation. No dedicated space to hold up luggage. The AC was loud constantly - but we got used to it. When we first opened the door to the room it smelled damp and almost like a faint cigarette smell. This smell didn't last long - or maybe we got used to it - who knows. The bathroom was small - toilet too close to the door and the tub. Though I do prefer to stay in more modern hotels - You just can't beat the price and location of this hotel. And when you're in Orlando you're ideally not going to be spending so much time in your room. We just needed a place to clean up and sleep - and it was great for that! I would recommend this hotel for a trip to Universal & would return for the location/price points. One thing I found interesting: I had read a review here complaining about the pizza takeout menus being pushed under the door. So I was not surprised when we received our first menu delivery... On one day we received 3 menus all from different restaurants! On my last day there I was reading through the info package binder the hotel provides in the rooms. Theres a section on security where they warn that some of those pizza menus are actually scams - not legit businesses. Anyways I thought that might be useful info to know for future guests! Glad I did not order from those places.
