Stayed three nights in a Bay view room. front desk staff were soooo nice and welcoming. Room was very clean and each morning there were cleaning in staff in the hallway so if you needed anything they were more than happy to help. The Beach Bar is great with great food and friendly staff. CONS ( if you mind these) weekends are a little busy as the hotel is near Whisky Joe's and a busy highway and you can hear traffic all night and early morning you are on Bayside. The only recommendation that I'd make to the management would be not to let crowds gather drinking and partying in the lobby area. Other people staying there would like to enjoy the beautiful lobby as well without the drunken party group hanging out there all day and all night. Overall I would recommend this hotel as a close to the airport vacationing spot!!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for seven nights , and then had to return for work an additional three nights ;( Very disappointed, our room was not cleaned three mornings. We had someone’s chicken bones on our balcony. I had to go to the main guest restroom and take toilet paper ;( after asking repeatedly for more necessities. The elevator didn’t work on our first visit for two days and now today someone vomited in the same elevator. What a coincidence. Needless to say I’m over and checking out ;( Poor customer service from the front desk, they could care less about their guests. Save your money and stay elsewhere!

David is the best server ever. Love the view. Hotel renavations should be quite the delight. Ive never had a salad served so seemlesly. Great drink selection as well. Did I mention what a great and fantastic kind of human david is? Cause I barley belive hes real and is more or less a projection of our consciousness.

With recent mixed reviews and renovations, we decided to give this place a try. There is a lot of room for improvement still, but we would probably stay here again because for us the pros outweighed the cons. Pros - Its on the Bay with a little pier. Close to airport, free shuttle was great. We could see pretty quickly that reno was done in rooms, but there is still a lot of room for improvement at some point. It's been repainted, some lighting upgrades, bathroom vanity upgrade, etc. There is a restaurant on site with both outdoor and indoor seating, and the food was good that we had for dinner and breakfast. Breakfast server Rachel friendly and quick. The harbor view from our 3rd floor balcony (room 336) was very good and away from elevator and outdoor bar noise. Two chairs and little table on balcony, and it was semi-private with partial wall separating. There is a little fridge in the room. Cons - The grab bar in the tub was rusty where it fastened to the wall, and the tub was super slippery. My husband almost fell, and could have badly hurt his knee that is still healing after surgery. One nightstand had a lot of damage to the wood base. They put new tops on them, so why leave that base looking so bad? While the HVAC worked very well, the outside on the balcony was in very bad shape, pieces broken off, etc. The hand towel holder fell off the wall when we used it. Overall Housekeeping - while our room seemed pretty clean overall, there was a blob of gum or something on the bathroom floor right in front of the vanity. Easily seen. Yuck. The lobby seemed fresh and clean, modern. However, the elevator interiors still need a reno and 1 was in pretty rough shape, perhaps because of all the recent construction. When we stepped off the elevator on the 3rd floor, there was a beautiful white inlaid floor which is a nice focal point. However, there was something dark spilled all over it. Looked like it had been there a while. Cleaning doesn't take a big investment and makes all the difference for a guest stay. When we mentioned items to front desk staff they were very friendly and thanked us for telling them. They had a sheet right there and jotted down our room issues. That made us feel like someone in management cares and trying to still improve.

I am generally not one to write reviews, but Bay Harbor Hotel deserves such an exception. I stayed at the Bay Harbor Hotel with my fiancée from Sunday, October 29, 2017, until Monday October 30, 2017. It was the day after my father’s wedding and from other reviews it looked beautiful, and it was! We arrived, and although there were no rooms available for an early check in, the front desk staff was very helpful and accommodating with keeping us abreast. While we waited, we went and enjoyed a cocktail at the on-property restaurant, well-priced and well-made. When we did receive our room, we were granted our special request of a room on one of the higher floors, as to not be disrupted by the renovations and construction. We went into the hotel and the room was beautiful, clean, and featured a sophisticated floor plan and a beautiful view of Tampa Bay. The downstairs staff continued their great assistance and even assisted my fiancé and I with a mini photoshoot and took a few photos of us overlooking the water. We did dinner at tapas and came back early, as we both had an early flight the next morning (another perk of the hotel). We went to sleep and woke up with enough time to take a shower and drive to the airport. As I got dressed I charged my wireless Beats headphones into the bathroom outlet. We got dressed and checked out without any issue. Now this is where everything went south. As I was pulling into the airport rental car return, I noticed that I had left my headphones plugged in at the hotel! I quickly called back the front desk, gave them my room number, and was assured by the front desk that the headphones would be retrieved. I was even told that I could call back after my flight to make sure that they could get my address to ship these headphones. This was a relief, as I neither live in Tampa, nor did I know when I would be returning. Further, while I was making good time, if I had returned to the hotel I would have missed my flight and the next one available flight was not until the next morning. Now I know this is the time where it might come across like I lost my headphones, but allow me to explain why that’s highly unlikely. First, like I said I knew exactly where I left them, instantly. Second, what are the chances that I lose both my headphones and my charger, and the cord that connects all at once without noticing? Anyway, moving on… I got on my flight, back to St. Thomas of the Virgin Islands, and called back that afternoon. The front desk staff then told me they personally would not be able to get the headphones, but that I would be able to speak with housekeeping. Unfortunately, I would not be able to speak with them at the time because they were all on the floor, but my phone number was given to housekeeping so that I could be contacted. This was concerning to me, because my impression from the earlier phone call was that the headphones would be retrieved that morning. I was calling in only to send my address. I did not receive that call from housekeeping. When I followed up the next day to speak with housekeeping, Mr. Dallas Jackson told me that nothing had been found, and that basically he didn’t know what to tell me. He was quite indifferent. Now my concern intensified, since I went from being comforted when I initially left my headphones, to feeling like I had been misled. Suddenly my headphones were missing, when if my initial assistance had been provided, they could have easily been retrieved, as opposed to suddenly disappearing. I asked to speak with the Hotel’s General Manager, Ms. Krystal Rivera, and was given her number but told that she would not be in again until 9:30 am. I called the following day and left a message with Ms. Rivera. Again, no response. I called again the next day, and made it clear that I planned on following up with a complaint to the Better Business Bureau (which I plan on doing as soon as I finish this review), and suddenly my call was returned that day, this was November 14. I unfortunately, due to the conditions of phone services post-hurricanes in St. Thomas, missed the phone call and called her back the same day. No response. I called again two days later and still heard nothing. This has now been over three weeks later and I have heard nothing from anyone at the Bay Harbor Hotel. It is very disappointing that such a beautiful hotel and experience, was ruined by the inability to follow up with me about my valued possessions. It really put a damper on my entire stay in Tampa.
