"Awesome views from the towers and lines"
July, 2015
We were in Orlando for a family vacation, me and my 2 adult daughters, neither of them have ever zip lined before. I've had a few opportunities to "zip like" back in the 80s with Army training (remember the slide for life?) but it wasn't anything like the commercial places today. Gatorland is actually a gator reserve, has multiple ponds segregating the sizes of the gators. I found it to be very educational and promote awareness for habitat and wildlife preservation. The park is organized around the pools with aviaries and snack bars imbedded within. There are plenty of shaded walkways so you're not constantly in the sun. The zip line depot is inside the park, where they take you through a safety briefing and film. An experiences guide (college age men and women) help you assemble the gear then off we went to the towers with a few others. These towers were above the treeline and we could see nesting osprey and crows in the tops of the trees. Looking down was impressive! The zip lines were fun, some short some long and we traversed several towers before ending the adventure. The entire trip took about 3 hours- starting from buyin the tickets to editing the park. The zip line tickets give you entrance to the park and you can stay there all day if you want, but you must to show up at the depot on time otherwise you may have to forfeit your ride. Great experience and I highly recommend to novice an experiences zip liners. Safe for kids!!
Tip: Don't bring anything loose that can fall off your head or out of pockets

"Awesome attraction!!! So Many Gators!"

Long line at the entrance, but the ticket window attendants work fast and are very friendly. We didn't watch any of the shows, but they have several shows during the day. We were happy to walk around the large facility and look at all of the animals at our own pace. There are SO MANY gators of various sizes. They are so active in this environment compared to gators at the zoo. They're still in captivity, but they seem "happier". You can buy turkey hot dogs to feed them and they go nuts for those pieces of hot dogs (if the birds don't steal them first!). The albino alligators are really neat too. Enjoyed reading all of the funny information and safety signs around the place. Some of them are pretty funny. The gift shop is well stocked with a variety of gator themed items and the prices are decent. The gift shop staff are friendly, but a couple of them were kind of overzealous with customer service. I know they probably have a lot of shoplifters, but I felt like they were breathing down our necks a lot during our visit. You shouldn't make your paying customers feel uncomfortable to shop :-( Everyone in our family enjoyed our trip to Gatorland and we will probably visit again when we return to Florida for future vacations. I didn't realize until after our visit that Gatorland is featured during the opening credits of National Lampoon's Vacation. So cool!

"THRILLING! TERRIFYING! (not really) TRUE NATURE!"

Gatorland is a MUST for any Orlando tourist. From the famous entrance, to the last gator, you will enjoy this wonderful Florida swamp whether you are old, young, with your family or by yourself! From the very first step inside the park you will be surrounded by nature's beauty and those ravenous reptiles- THE ALLIGATOR. The first exhibit gives you a chance to actual FEED real gators in their environment. Questions? The extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff can help you with anything you would like to know about gators. The park map is detailed with all the exhibits and shows that you can experience and I urge you to try and make it to all of them! ESPECIALLY THE Gator Jumparoo Show, which is thrill-filled with enormous gators LEAPING out of the water the envelope a WHOLE tasty chicken out of the hands of a trained professional. There is gator wrestling, a petting zoo, a small water park to cool off, food of every kind to enjoy throughout the park. The birds are absolutely beautiful and I was just so awestruck by their beauty. When walking through the park, you will encounter gator after gator of all sizes and from different parts of the world. Be sure to take advantage of the zip line that takes you through the air over the gator filled water safely to the other side of the park. You will even have the opportunity to wrestle a gator yourself, feed a gator and PET A GATOR! Kids will love this attraction and be sure to take your camera. There are so many photo ops in this park. The price I consider mid-range for a park of this size and with this much to do. As a Senior, I gained entrance for HALF PRICE!!! A train runs through the park and with little ones it is probably best to spend the small fee to navigate from one side of the park to the other. Enjoy your day at Gatorland and I give this 5 stars! Mid-range pricing and food is tasty and a little overpriced. Take your camera and drink plenty of water during the summer months. HAPPY TRAVELS! GO DO IT!!
