Description

from Ripley's Believe It or Not! Orlando Odditorium
The Orlando Odditorium appears to be sinking into one of Florida's infamous sinkholes. For over 40 years Robert Ripley, the modern Marco Polo and the real-life Indiana Jones, traveled the world collecting the unbelievable, the inexplicable and the one-of-a-kind. All of it is amazing and much of it extremely amusing. His collection is housed in over 27 museums in 10 countries. Each museum's collection is 90% unique and different. As Ripley's ghost says ..."Come in... look around... and see if you Believe It or Not!"

So hard to please a 12 year old and he really enjoyed the visit! His mother and grandmother had a great time also. We were silly at times and yet we really looked at everything. It was especially fun to see a statue of Robert Wadlow, the tallest man, since he is from my home town.

My daughter wanted to see this place. Surprisingly small place, many signs to read to get the meanings, so it is good to know English.

The building caught our attention when we passed by and the kids begged to check it out. We had planned to go to Wonderworks but came here instead. I'm not into these kind of things, but I was so entertained. The pool table room was awesome and there was so much to see. We spend about 1,5 hour there. Staff at the entrance was very nice and chatty and if I should say something bad about this place it would be that it should have more interactive activities. For Orlando the price was reasonable. And they have a fun gift shop with something unusual at the exit.

"Expensive"

The one stand out that made it worth the expensive admission price is the vertigo inducing tunnel at the end. The walls spin and the floor DOESN’T move but the effect fools your brain. Awesome! Otherwise, the exhibits are hit and miss. Mostly miss. We went with an attentive nine year old who loves the Believe It or Not books and the exhibits did not hold his attention for long. This took about 45 mins for us to go through. Considering the price, that’s expensive. If this were cheaper, I would have rated it higher.
